One Youngster In - One Out At Spurs?

Spurs are apparently winning the race for Southampton's young left-back Gareth Bale.

Bale, who is one of several highly prized youngsters in the Southampton academy, recently became Wales' youngest ever international at the tender age of 16.

Several other clubs including Liverpool are also said to be tracking the player who Wales U21 boss called a 'Rolls Royce' player. Although Southampton are keen on keeping the player, they know if the right offer comes in, the temptation of the Premiership - plus much needed funds - will usually tempt the player and club.

In other news Premiership new boys Watford have signed 18-year-old striker Claude Seanla from Spurs. Seanla was part of the Spurs academy last season but now will now enjoy a professional contract with the Hornets. Sky Sports say: The Ivory Coast born youngster can play either as a left midfielder or a striker and was prolific for Tottenham's youth setup last season.

apparently that southampton geeza is wallnuts bum buddy...

Gareth Bale is really highly rated by John Toshack and has a great future ahead of him. I hope we get him. However I do worry about the development of some of these young players as they are not getting enough first team experience.
Spur65
We buy them and never hear them again.
ScottDaYid
what happened to leigh mills! and defendi!
elmo85
We are going to need Enfield in a hurry, we need to do something with this talent ala Kelly. On paper we have some excelent talent, think Perkhart will do a Lennon.
TeddyLyon
We keep buying young "talent" at knock down prices cos we CANNOT fork out £30 MILLLLLION on an aging shuvchenko with no no no resale value if he dont play well, so be it we'll buy another three £30 million players. I love our approach, think how much you gamble each week at the lottery ... Spurs £5 mill spent on Lennon, Carrick and Robbo... each worth at least £15 mill , not a bad profit £40 million!!!. If we signed 5 £1.5 mill players thats still a hell of a lot of money made on those other players let alone maybe finding another gem in like Lennon, or selling them on. I love the spurs way now, we do see ALOT or not see alot of young players ie ghali, ham doui, terry dixon, ifill, BUT i woulod take 10 of these hopefulls on the strength of signing another leenon. thoughts??
smedspurs
I saw Bale playing for Wales against Trinadad and Tobago, he looked alright but it can be difficult to see wether he'll turn into something special or not.

Shame we cant buy Orieny say for a couple of million and play/train them up there a bit like Arsenal, except as usual it was overseas.
TeddyLyon
Sorry to see Seanla go and surprised because he seemed to have alot of promise, perhaps there is more to it!

What you reckon Spurs could get for Stalteri from the only club on earth that would make him a marquis player - the MSL's newest expansion franchise, Toronto FC? Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please? Or a stout trunk of maple and a well-shaved beaver pelt?
greatwhitenorf
I would definatley sell him for a stout trunk and a well shaved beaver.
GreenGiant13
lee mills is doing good ent he
andyclark1882
sign them young sell them old
andyclark1882
we need to buy in the talent young, but Bale wouldn't come cheap despite his age he's already got international caps. A very promising young player. but doubt he'd walk into our 1st team even ahead of Y.P.Lee
