Spurs lose Tiago!

Tottenham were hopeful of signing the former Chelsea man back to the premiership during this month's transfer window after holding talks with Juventus.

Sky Sports have reported that Spurs have taken to long to agree the transfer with Tiago Cardoso Mendes resulting in Juventus saying 'He is no longer on the marketing and will stay to show his capabilities here'.

Seems a shame if it is down to Spurs waiting around but there is still 2 days left of the transfer window so you never know we could just nick him before time runs out.

I was under the impression that we had offered terms to him but Athetico had started sniffing around so HE thought he'd sit on it for a bit and see who else wanted his services! Oh well, we move on...
We've now got the experience at the back in Woodgate and I think we need to adopt the same policy for the midfield. Someone like Guti or Seedorf to get some experience in the middle of the park.
Tiago is a very good player I would have loved but there are others out there that we could get that are as good as him, if not better. Great pic byt the way...
Haha love the poll Matt. How the last option hasn't got 100% I will never know!
Hold on just one cotton pickin minute! We were told just a few days ago that Juande Ramos had already rebuffed Tiago, stating "I've already done so on various occasions, although you don't know that - maybe six to eight"..... So whats all this Bow-lacks about Juve being in the driving seat. They just don't want it to seem their excess player has been turned down.
I don´'t know what to believe....... The tabloids are all over the shop! Anyone read that tripe about woody going to the A5ena1 and then apparently wenger did'nt wan't him......Honestly, anyone can write for these 2-bit tabloids nowadays! And they're also trying to make us believe he's on more money than ledders..... Goner scum...........
Gooner scum*
This news is old and has been circulating for a couple of days now, where have u been?
I wouldn't be to quick to assume this is dead in the water, especially now that Sissoko has moved from Liverpool to Juventus. As we've all learned through bitter experience you have to take everything you read/hear during the transfer window with a huge sack of salt. Sadly it all comes down to money in the end and there's always someone, be it the selling club or the players agent, who throw stuff to the press in the hope of bumping up the price/commission. Remember the Hutton deal has received its last rites at least twice and now it appears to have happened.
Tiago would have been a good signing. He is better than what we have. But we can't have every position sorted out this transfer window.
Real Deal
ramos is maybe holding out for even better, diego anyone?
Diego? Have we even been linked with him?
Good player, but personally speaking not too bothered, would be happier to finally nab Hutton than sign Tiago. Whats happened to Gilberto Silva he was supposed to be in the bag?
Diego is a quality player. But he is more of a luxury IMO. Want someone who will be more strong and consistant.
Real Deal
I'm fedup of the gossip. The papers are crap. I've decided to wait until the window is closed and until Tottenham show me the players in a Lilly White shirt.
we dnt need him dat all dat good anyway what no. is woodgate takin

cheers rd, remember Frank aswell maybe some of the others. Anyway down to business not too bothered about Tiago. Too similar too Jenas for me jack of all trades master of none. As for Diego, he never did anything spectacular at Porto and for me out of the three would be better to get Lucho although he would cost close to 15m, but still Diego wouldnt be far off and Tiagos around 10 so for me no question and I am more confident of El Commandante adapting to Prem than Diego, who carries a lot of baggage with his dad who is his agent, bit like Anelka etc. Lucho will probably be the next Deco as in he is very similar in my opinion, likes to get forward but can track back and put in a tackle. Can play anywhere in the midfield, great passing and vision and scores regularly aswell, like I say the most similar to Deco I can think of and as for Deco well we cant attract him and it would be mightly difficult to get lucho, but he is the one to go for.

No doubt many a CL team would be interested, Valencia tried their luck in the Summer but I think it came down to as little as 1-2m being the difference. Valencia are now pretty cack and nobody else has moved, would be a gd time to strikeas in the summer will probably be mcuh harder.

does anyone care? woody, hutton, gunter and gilberto... good enough 4 me lads
4 in the bag and two days to go, Come on ExiL this is Spurs, we have still got plenty of time to refurbish midfield, trade a couple of strikers and get half a dozen replacements for Robbo. We like doing business at 11.58pm on the final day of the transfer window why should this one be any different?

We'll buy someone late tomorrow night, always do and I wouldn't be suprised if it was Tiago. If the only thing that's saying a deal is off is the player's agent then it's very much alive, you know the games these guys play.
glendalough yid : Jonny Woodgate is shown as No.39 on the official site.
tiago not good enough never made it at chelskiand hi has not played well for juve.
i really think we will see tiago sign at the last min
