'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Time to close the book on Ramos era..

On a week which could week re-ignite the international dreams of Darren Bent, I have to say I was disappointed at reading the headlines this morning..

With little mention of his England prospects voiced by the media, all we are reading and hearing are that Juande Ramos only spoke about four words to Darren Bent in nearly 12 months...

This may well be true and I am certainly not doubting his word and sadly it really doesn't surprise me to again read our former head coach had little or no communication skills, whether due to his attitude or inability to speak the language sufficiently is hardly relevant, but I now feel the time has come to look forward and not dwell of past failings.

I don't wish to make this an anti Darren Bent piece, because he was most probably giving a direct answer to a direct question, but with the new man in charge and players re invigorated, the time is right to open a new chapter and leave the old one behind.

Spurs are now back with a manager who is genuinely liked by the public and media. someone who will give the players and fans confidence and hopefully a connection with the club again, which has been lacking for some years. In an industry being devoured by money, Tottenham have an opportunity to rise above this and re-embrace their fans and in doing so make new friends on the way.

It has to be said that Bent's comments are newsworthy in a quiet week for club football, but they are sending out more negative comments which only add ridicule to an already cringeworthy period, this does the club no credit and the sooner the players forget the past and look to the future the nearer we will be to being a success, whatever that success may be....

For how long have we been discussing this it seems forever. Why oh why can't the players just shut up and get on with the job at hand, which is getting out of the mess we are in, which is quite a bit to do with them.

I'm afraid Dazza isn't blessed in the brains department, he should let it lie and not burn any more bridges, especially in a week where he should be concentrating on resurrecting his england career. Ramos and Poyet at least admitted they could not argue against their dismissals because of the bad results. There is no point in openly slagging them off. It will only lead to more anti spurs feeling.

Juande said to Darren "where did Berbatov go" Darren replied "last time i saw him he was under a dog blanket in the back of Ferguson's car! can I have a go at being striker now?"

let's knock bent for answering questions he is asked. let's knock him for scoring the goals that have helped us begin to get out of the mire. let's knock him for not scoring 20 goals already this season. are there any other stupid groundless reasons to knock him? i'm sure people on here will find them.

I think it is time that Spurs told the press that the players are not available for interview unless sanctioned by the club, and then will only deliver statements previously vetted by the PR dept, or press office. Lets the bloody journalists generate their own copy, rather than players getting lured into saying controversial things.

I like Bent and have always stood by him, just always been the first to point out what a simple (yet effective if played correctly) striker he is. I don't care what he says about Ramos, because Ramos isn't at the club anymore. Its not doing any harm. In fact it should be instilling to fans that our problems were not to do with the quality of players we have bu the quality of manager. So far that has largely been proved right. Lets question comments like this if we start playing like the start of the season again. However, if Bent manages to score 20-25 goals in all competitions this season then lets let him and the other boys get on with it. If we can get Pav or Campbell to do similar we'll stop thinking about Berba and Keane's depatures once and for all.

well as GONEde probably only knew four words in english this is no real shock. as you said this is bent answering a direct question with direct answer. something tells me he didnt go find a microphone or a reporter and beg to say juande ramos only said four words to me in a year. maybe its time for YOU to move on ox. this article is portraying in a negative light ; 0 hopefully bent gets some minutes against the krauts would like to see him score, but most importantly come back healthy

I can think of four (letter) words to say to Ramos but they wouldn't be printed here.Totally useless waste of space..there's five words that are printable. He nearly ruined us.(There's four sensible ones).

In the end Ramos only needed to understand 3 words of English, the first being his surname the second beginning with "f" and the third being off, I suppose it was probably clear enough even for him.

Its easily the kind of thing that bent could have said flippantly in response to a question. Papers dont report tone of voice. Either way though, he probably should have not said much. Still if he keeps scoring he can say what he likes.

So what? Ramos is hardly likely to be taking another job here again. I'm sure it was a contrived question, but footballers are not rocket scientists. I think the 4 words were, 'black coffee, por favor', or possibly, 'where's the tapas bar?'

Players should keep their mouth shut because all though football is huge its also small. Its a tight community and when you start putting the boot in on or of the pitch it has a way of coming back to you. IMO best to stay professional and anyway you should never slag old employers of as it doesn't look good. best to keep quiet and keep dignity.
