On a week which could week re-ignite the international dreams of Darren Bent, I have to say I was disappointed at reading the headlines this morning..
With little mention of his England prospects voiced by the media, all we are reading and hearing are that Juande Ramos only spoke about four words to Darren Bent in nearly 12 months...
This may well be true and I am certainly not doubting his word and sadly it really doesn't surprise me to again read our former head coach had little or no communication skills, whether due to his attitude or inability to speak the language sufficiently is hardly relevant, but I now feel the time has come to look forward and not dwell of past failings.
I don't wish to make this an anti Darren Bent piece, because he was most probably giving a direct answer to a direct question, but with the new man in charge and players re invigorated, the time is right to open a new chapter and leave the old one behind.
Spurs are now back with a manager who is genuinely liked by the public and media. someone who will give the players and fans confidence and hopefully a connection with the club again, which has been lacking for some years. In an industry being devoured by money, Tottenham have an opportunity to rise above this and re-embrace their fans and in doing so make new friends on the way.
It has to be said that Bent's comments are newsworthy in a quiet week for club football, but they are sending out more negative comments which only add ridicule to an already cringeworthy period, this does the club no credit and the sooner the players forget the past and look to the future the nearer we will be to being a success, whatever that success may be....
