Spurs travel to Stoke in the Carling Cup

Tottenham have been drawn away to Stoke City in the third round of the Carling Cup.

The game will take place in the week commencing the 19th of September, with I assume the game being either on the Tuesday or Wednesday, perhaps depending on TV coverage and other games in the region.

This game may well be of greater interest to Spurs fans, should Stoke finally complete the signing or signings of Wilson Palacios and Peter Crouch in the next few days to add spice to what will be a pretty tough trip for Spurs, particularly if they look to play squad and younger players in the competition...

They're competing on as many fronts as we are so i'd expect us to have more in reserve then them, but it probably won't work out that way

Use more fringe players, and play the players we're gonna sell like Crouch, Palacios, Hutton etc... If we can finish top 4 or win a cup this year it'd be so good.

How exciting. That'll be as far as we go in this competition then. Oh well, here's some good news/itk bollox...

[Update 431] Akqayid - Just stuff...... Who: Akqayid.......... When: 27 Aug......... Where: SC..... This morning fun and games begun with a text message stating

'Diarria's heads turning like a blokes in a knocking shop'

Bugger. But I'm still sticking by it as I have for nearly 5 weeks now.

In other news Parker joins. And the mass exodus is happening, seems buying clubs have been waiting to last minute to shaft us on prices,

Also as an FYI - The NPD, there will be a bridge much like Shameriates, from an improved WHL station going over the road the new kop end, which will be Bill Nic Way. Just thought I'd share that. NPD IS happening it seems."......

Villa sold young to QPR so they gotta be moving for Hutton now. Only problem with the mass exodus is that players like Crouch, Jenas keep saying they want to fight for their places as they both know once they leave they will never be at a club as big as ours again. Was hoping for a home draw so Stoke away not ideal but you never know, the kids (Kane, Townsend,Livermore etc...) may just surprise us this year.

This ones going to be tough. They are not the same Stoke they were last year, and even then it was not an easy place to go to. If Harry does play the kids, which I doubt for this one, then it will be a certain test of their abilities and if they can really cut it. Going by how we played against Hearts at home, I don't feel that confident.

Travelling to Stoke will be a tricky game, if Redknapp selects some of the youngsters, which I hope he does. They'll have to raise their game up a few notches IMO the display the other night against Hearts although it wasn't enthralling, I did however see enough to convince me that they have the potential to achieve future honours. COYS!!!

Not the best of draws, but maybe some more valuable experience for a few, more so than Aldershot anyway.

unless we want an early exit, we cannot play the kids for this 1. Stoke at home are dangerous for anyone, but especially a club with our track record vs these type of teams.

It is a tough draw but Stoke have also got Europa League commitments so it might be a case of their kids/B players against ours, in which case I'd fancy us to have too much class. But our kids against anything resembling their best team? Forget it! They'd be muscled out in quick time.
