Everton confirm Pienaar return!

Hardly a surprise, but it is now officially done.

In a deal that is claimed to be for 4.5m. Steven Pienaar has returned to Goodison Park after his ill faited move to WHL, which was a mix of injuries and lack of opportunity for a player that I always felt was ideally suited to a move to Spurs, but for any number of reasons, I was proved wrong, or at least not right...

Haha, Ox published this moments after I posted on the other thread. What happened to all the total rubbish I had to read on here for months about how he was stuck with us, unable to shift his high wages etc etc. Give the crystal ball a slap next time, might save us all some conjecture that was frankly tiring.
Agreed - good player who lost his way at Spurs. Good luck to him. Another top up of the transfer kitty and a high earner off the payroll.
Agree with the above posts..nothing more to add..good player but not gonna oust Bale or Lennon and HR was never gonna give him a thorough chance. Great dealing by DL once more :) COYS
Never saw this one coming...
Spurs Allday
Yay, let's all try to show our comedic values by posting the same supposedly amusing images on every thread. School's out for the summer it would appear.
lol TopSpur, maybe try to vary the total hilarity of your one-joke-show in future, otherwise we may as well call you Russell Howard and be done with it.
Slurms You were right!!
Have you got an image for Raging the website shill that 'accidentally' posts to himself noshing off Harry?
Think raging is on sabbatical.
take the money and sign steph houghton!
Must say I really thought he could have played a part in the AVB style of play. His mind was made up so to make a couple of quid on him is a good thing. That should just about cover the transfer fee for Adebayor which I presume will be the next shoe to drop.

Crissy, other than a return to Everton (which still required Arteta to be gone and further wages to be dumped) he would not have been going anywhere. I would also not be surprised if giving an additional year reduced the yearly amount to bring it more in line with Evertonian affordability. Either way, I wish him all the best, just not against us.

TopSpur13, you want a LiteBrite for Christmas, don't you. COYS
@peterballb - agreed. All the best to Pienaar. We could have used him this season, but now there's room for some youngter to step up. Now reinvest the money on strikers! COYS
Topsur13 - Oh dear oh dear...;-) I'm kinda sorry to see wee peanut go, I guess the AVB transfer happened too late for him. Another victum of HR reign (along with ragng's sanity). Kinda Hard to argue with TopSpur13 though Crissybwoy and at one glance you get whole gist of his message! Its that kinda dedication thats going to win us gold when they make obscene gestures created from punctuation marks an Olympic Sport. COYTS13

And it's GOLD FOR IRELAND!!! probably in bloody horse riding though :(
Nice and classy tweets from pienaar. A real shame he never had much of a chance at spurs, (we could've done with him at end of last season)but best for him and we get transfer kitty. We do, however, need a back up for Lennon on the right and if as expected from realists, the transfer policy is the same, more money in the bank for a striker. With pav, Niko, Charlie and now pienaar money in, we are in transfer profit ( despite sigg and vert in's) and also have freed up wages from likes of Saha, nelson, ledley etc although naught on and caulker in. Hope that this is the start of a positive few weeks.
Good day ox?
Peter, fair point but I'm not sure how accurate that is, if rumour was to be believed then both QPR and Sunderland (even in January) were keen to land him, guess after his favourite Prem club came in there was only going to be one destination for the lad. I've never said a bad word about Pienaar, think he is a better player than he showed in our colours, nice that we make a small profit on the fee (not wages taken into account though) but we're leaving the squad light in many positions atm. It's all very well trying to bring through the kids but players like Townsend aren't immediately going to compensate for the loss of proven internationals like Kranjcar and Pienaar. Would sooner have seen Jenas and Bentley leave, there needs to be a plan in place regarding these transactions, if there isn't, then yikes Scoob!
I'm sorry that we never got to see him healthy at WHL. Good luck, Pie man. We hardly knew ye.
Total knobhead
Bought for 3m, sold back a year later for 4.5m, Daniel Levy take a bow,,,, now go and buy us some F7cking players!
All the best to him....never got a great chance, struggled with fitness too....good deal for all parties..looked very good when back at Everton at the end of last season...
Bye peanut.. you were a victim of the previous manager's selection and injuries. But in return you got a shed full of wages which you would not have got at Everton...
Block D Spurs
now get rid of the rest of the dead wood well the entire team as we don't seem to be buying anyone and linked to this player and that player it getting foreign now so avb/levy get your backsides in to gear

How Levy pull that one off?

No doubt he is a good negotiator. 1.5 mil pounds profit in 1 year on 1 player. Good job
Just echoing pretty much everyones sentiments really. I didn't think we needed him at the time, but in fits and starts he showed his quality. That was never in doubt, but I never saw him being a good fit at Spurs. His professionalism can't be faulted though, he obviously loves playing his footie, and he's now back doing it at the club he loves. Just out of interest, what are these 'classy tweets' he's been coming out with Windle?
Not as great a deal as some are making out - that 1.5 million profit was whittled away by paying some 70k per week (as low transfer fee) whilst he was largely injured. However, good to break even & free up space / cut wages, just think he could have done a job for us last season (when we needed him & he was fantastic for Everton). Good Luck.
Shame it didn't work out but good piece of business. Bassong, Jenas, Bentley to shift. If we nail a keeper (still hoping for Vorm), Modric/Mountinho swap over and 2 strikers with funds we recouped now and in Jan (Damiao 20M + Dos Santos) and Ade looking good. Much as I like Huddlestone hoping there will also be deal with Fulham for Hudd + cash (or any of our surplus) for Dembele
Hudd + cash for Dembele? Is your head cut?
Let's use this money wisely paid 3m and have 4.5m back - right a striker who did well for us last season on loan, give it to him and stop pratting around, it is that simple, even an idiot could work that out, ask any le scum fan?
spu 4 life
Talented player, Piennaar, good luck to him.
No one knows what Pienaar earned at Spurs, not even the papers, so it makes no sense having the debate! The only truth is that he is no longer a Spurs player, despite all those who believed we'd never be able to sell him.
Paul - THFC Forever
Don't be so negative windle, you sound like me. Think of a player as a car. You buy it, you put petrol in it each week and when you sell it, it's older and you lose money on it. Fact. You don't take into account running costs. Unless you're Levy.
Tottenham Hotcore
Good luck and enoy gong home.
i realy like pienaar, and was happy when we signed him. then he didnt get a run, got injured yadda yadda yadda. oh well, good luck to him and i hope he doesnt score against us when we play everton
See ya, good luck pinhead
