My B0ll0x are of immense dimension
08/10/2012 12:16:00
0 our multi-lingual man manager. it occurs to me that the AVB we see at spurs is the same as the porto AVB, I think it is actually natural for him to be close to the players, to create the camaraderie as one of the team etc rather than be the aloof boss. certainly when one reads what the porto players have to say about him this is what comes across. many people commented that they hoped AVB would learn to become more approachable, a better man manager etc following the chelsea problems, but I actually think that that is who is naturally, but that he tried to change his approach with chelsea. because the players already knew him in another role he probably felt that he had to come in and be the big boss now in order to establish some authority and to make the wholesale squad changes he was essentially instructed to push through. the chelsea job was always going to be virtually impossible for him to succeed in as the old assistant to the still felt presence of mourinho. I think at spurs we have the real AVB, the man considered by many as the most promising young manager in football just one year ago, and we would never have got him were it not for the chelsea episode

AVB`s wera his heart on his sleeve attitude & fan like behaviour is what makes me really like him being our manager .If he keeps connecting with the fans the way he does & celebrates like he really means it he`ll get a massive faithful following like Jols did .
I don`t see anything fake about AVB & i believe him to be a genuine guy who wants the club to do well as much as himself to do well .They go together hand in hand ,when people start trying to be bigger than the club that`s when it goes tits up ,i don`t see that here .Keep it going ,respect is a 2 way thing .

loves his passion and passes on to both fans and players

Very insightful Guernman
08/10/2012 18:39:00
AVB's Blue & White Army!! That is all..
08/10/2012 19:17:00
I hope you are right Guernman. I like what i have seen so far. Not just the four wins in a row. Since the start i have been impressed. There has been a gradual improvement. I think we have a very clever, confident and determined manager on our hands.

Club Shirt sales globally Man utd Real madrid Barcelona Chelsea and the rest follows how many do we sell in a season?

Just back from a great holiday, no lap top, can't be arsed with internet cafes, so no contact for nearly 3 weeks. So here goes, reasonably emphatic win at Carlisle, fantastic result and first half performance at OT, according to the press reports. Reasonable, if not spectacular result in Greece, after again, according to the press reports, and as against Lazio, murdering the opposition, without translating pressure and supremacy into goals and victory. Then a good performance and result v Villa. As I always said I would, I must hold my hands up, and admit that AVB is starting to prove me and others wrong, we are starting to look like a really good side, both going forward, and defending. We still need to score more goals when bossing the game, killing teams off earlier in the piece, and to keep more clean sheets, but at the moment we are going very well. We are now going into a session of difficult fixtures with Chelsea (H), and Man City and Arsenal both away, to be played before the end of November, these games will really test our metal and resolve, and measure our progress. It is just a shame that the two poor home results against both WBA and Norwich, and the 4 points dropped, may prove so costly come the end of the season, but we really are starting to look like a top 4 side. Regarding AVB he does come over as passionate, and he gets absolutely lost into the game, and seems to be building a good spirit. One thing I do find somewhat embarrasing is his use of over elaborate English to explain his points, but having said that, I supose he does well with what after all is to him, a foreign language. Tactically I wish when we are bossing games with attacking play, but only holding a slim lead, he wouldn't err towards "to have and to hold"approach, rather than lets carry on as we are, and tend to make negative substitutions, and concedes the inititive to the opposition. This has resulted in two late equalisers being scored against us already, I would prefer a more ruthless attacking approach, but over all so far so good, he should ***** the "manager of the month" award for September.
08/10/2012 19:42:00
BTW, did Modric play last night?
08/10/2012 19:42:00
The reason why i ask is because i think Dembele is a better fit. Call me crazy, but that's what i think.
08/10/2012 19:43:00
Good post big c, totally agree, he's one of us now. Guernman, well written, some good points within there fella. Frank, good to have you back mate, hope your holiday was all good boss.
08/10/2012 19:58:00
Frank, top man.
08/10/2012 20:12:00
Like your post up there Guernman :-)
08/10/2012 23:30:00
syd, just read your comments from the Villa post. You're right, if I was going to be honest, I knew we would most likely score in the second half. We are going to give Chelsea a good game next week from the looks of things. We are at home as well. If we win, I would not really consider it an upset. No doubt the punters will be out in force calling us title contenders. At least we know AVB will keep everyone firmed grounded.

@inspurational....AVB IN IN IN ;-)
09/10/2012 00:52:00
OMG, both Frank and Raging are expressing positive things about AVB. All the fun will disappear... Perhaps I'll have to go negative since they're taking the optimistic side.
Total knobhead
09/10/2012 03:04:00
As I posted earlier, for me my opinion of AVB will not change if we do not be Chelski, but to win on the 20th would be a fantastic 2 fingers to the Abromovich and the chelsea team who did not respect their manager. It will be a difficult task looking at their form this season, but, in our favour, it has to come to an end sooner or later. I will sending positive vibes across the ocean on the 20th...AVB out!
09/10/2012 04:44:00
i'm looking forward to the game on the 20th, whether we win or lose will not change my opinion of AVB. To win would be a great 2 fingers to Abramovich and the players at Chelski who did not respect their manager. It will be a hard game to win looking at their previous form this season, but, it has to end soon, as it always does. I think the players will put all into this game and I am expecting an Ade/Dempsey partnership (JD on at 65 mins if we are 1-1 to get the final goal)! AVB out! COYS
09/10/2012 04:52:00
0 internet dissappeared and lost my post...i checked and it was not there. Wrote another post and heavens above..i got 2!....Wish that happened when I checked my pay check!
09/10/2012 04:57:00
I agree, the game next week will not change my opinion of our coach. He is doing a fine job and what better endorsement than from all the players themselves. So it is onwards and upwards. COME ON YOU SPURS :-))
09/10/2012 05:10:00
& WIN, WIN, WIN! CIAO FOR NOW MADABOUT!...bed time in Colombia!

I just wonder how Walker will stack up to Hazard/Mata? It's the one area I'm worried about

Hi Frank, welcome back to vital spurs, how was your salmon shooting holiday in scotland? True regarding the points (4) dropped against WBA & Norwich, but the bonus ball was getting all 3 @ Man U, so we could class this as -1. On another note we have a lot of players away on international duty, so may you all return safe and injury free, ready for chelsea at home and it's looking likely JT will be missing and Ashley Cole needs to be given at least a one match ban (vs us) for his comments. Frank you have been AWOL for 3 wks, did you get a straight RED?

TK, Spotted your post on the positive response from Ragin & Frank, Frank is old school and seen a lot of spurs for many, many years, i don't know the age bracket of Raging, but his post's make me smile, in both cases their GP has increased the dose of AVB for them with winter approaching, known simply as, Anti Virus Biotics.

i think AVB has been studying chavski for a few weeks and can spot their flaws.i don't think they are invincible as stoke very nearly proved already this season.i'm not a tactician but i do feel if we can break up their passing in mid-field we have a very good chance of beating chelsea as they have no natural wingers.

I'd like to see Frank and Raging on the MOTM list as they will get my vote. Humble pie tasting good boys? Also would like to add, both Frank and Raging deserve credit as they have both taken a lot of stick on here and both have come out and accepted that their opinions are sometimes wrong. Hats of to both of you.
09/10/2012 11:09:00
Frank and Raging - I hope you are not going to take all this adulation and sycophancy lying down!
Love totty

Spu 4 life, no salmon shooting in Scotland, just bollock browning in firstly Tenerife and then the Costa Blanca, not a bad way to spend 3 weeks, now I'm back home and settling for freezing my wotsits off in Scarborough.
