Dembele back for Arsenal?

Andre Villa-Boas has confirmed that Mousa Dembele won't have surgery to solve his hip injury and as a result may be available for the North London Derby in the 17th

Spurs have lost three and drawn one of the five games without Dembele, which perhaps highlights his importance and also raises the argument that he is probably the one player that we simply don't have cover for in the current squad. Though he wont be fit to face Maribor or Man City, his possible return against Arsenal will be seen as a major boost.

Speaking of the situation, Villas_Boas said: 'We could either give him surgery immediately, but there is no certainty it will cure the problem. Or he could rest, have manual therapy, train in the swimming pool.

'That allows the player the possibility of return within 10-15 days, so we are taking that option at the moment, without having the surgery.'

Though the fact that Dembele wont have surgery, I do have concerns that the 'Manual Therapy' AVB claims will be used instead, wont actually clear up the problem, but only temporarily sort it out, with the hope that is doesn't happen again. The player suffered the same injury last season, so although scans indicate that an operation wont definitely sort out the problem, not doing so, might not sort anything out in the long term either...

Hope so. Lovely way to storm back ;-)
He'd be the first name on my team-sheet ;-)
And imagine if he came back with a hat-trick :-)
I hope we beat those nomadic little sheisters. Be good to put four past them!!
I hope so too .Livermore is complete pants ,& Sigurdsson is complete $hit .
big cockeral
He`s not Walcott :0 ha ha you know ,the player who is far superior to the never criticised ,but average Lennon .
big cockeral
Sigurdsson isn't $hit BigC, he's just finding his feet in a new team & surroundings. You don't do what he did in the PL last season if you're $hit. I'll agree with Livermore, whilst I'll NEVER like Walcott, EVER!!..

Racism when it suits ??
big cockeral
though he is doubtful, I would be happy to see Livermore partner Hudd tomorrow, as we know Sandro wont be back. lets push Hudd forward a little and have Jake as our enforcer
coopsieyid ....It was a joke referring to when if Walcott scored a hat trick you`d leave this site ,brilliant .
big cockeral
Dembele would def be the first on my team sheet..

whats the news with Parker.. early retirement...
Ox, I think us pushing Thudd forward is the only fecking way he'll be able to move lol..

BigC, I never said that I'd leave the site if Walcott got a hat-trick. I said I'd leave if he scored, which I did. It's not my fault I was constantly asked for on here.

The funniest thing about the last 4 or 5 months, whilst I've not been on here, is that I've been slowly but surely building a whole new community on twitter. Over 900 followers later, and after many a debate about our beloved THFC, not 1 single insult has been directed at me or any of those that follow me, or those I follow. That to me speaks absolute volumes about the 'keyboard warriors' that tend to frequent this site!!
Yidmarks - Parker is due to return before Christmas, possibly earlier. It may be worth paying attention to the fact that he's been using his time out injured, to take his coaching badges.
Oh yes, even managed to get the FIRST vote on the poll :-)
I've gotta go now anyway, got a training session to preside over & then a meeting afterwards to hopefully get my little club some funding. Play nicely fellas!!
coopsieyid Did i not say i was just jesting ?
big cockeral
Welcome back coops!!!
Are we still yet to see this formation..

I hope this is the team we end the last half of the season with...

im hoping we make that January buy we so need, i would take any 1 or 2 of...

I wasn't aware we were about to be taken over by Bill Gates Yidmarks?
On Dembele this is great news. I can't help think surgery is just thrown around to unnecessarily to players when just letting them rest and recover naturally is often the better option. Im convinced endless surgery ruined Woodgates career, he spent more time recovering from the blade than the actual injury itself. Of course knees, Hernias and ankles especially in bad instances always need the knife but Hip problems? A young lad like Dembele surely doesnt need anything other than rest and physio.
Massive boost if Dembele is back the closest we have to the departed rat face.
Off topic but Shaktar are giving Chelski a good run for their money ATM, and Willian looks worth signing for sure!
Cairnside Spur
..............on the subject of transfer policy yes I'm as upset as anyone that we didn't sigh Lloriete or Moutinho etc etc..... But we shouldn't need these type of expensive world class players to beat the likes of West Brom, Norwich or Wigan (especially at WHL). AVB has to take the blame whether it be lack of motivation or wrong tactics or wrong subs.
Good news for us. Just hope he does not need surgery rather than deferring surgery.
The kids are alright - Shaq Coulthirst struck the 'perfect hat-trick' as our Under-19s toppled Barcelona 4-1 in the NextGen Series on Wednesday night. Shaq scored with left foot, right foot and header. Oh and we were away from home!
Full article on My favourite quote " the key thing was that we didnít want to limp over the line, we didnít want to be hanging on at 2-1 and praying for the referee to blow the final whistle." AVB are you listening
spuradic - Thankyou mate..

BigC, indeed you did say you were jesting. I must have missed it whilst I was busy sucking cock!! Sorry but I never forget.
well done celtic we could learn alot from there epic win against barce, celts go marcin on.
aaaand chelsea got 3 points :D :D :D
All British teams win in Europe. Can't remember when that last happened. Let's hope we don't let the side down tomorrow
Bad day for Barca. Full team and under 19's beaten. Obviously they must be in crisis now
Cooooops, good to see you back fella. Other than a few wise heads, this place has been over-run with instant-success morons who can't even spell the word "transition". They want it all, and they want it all now, bit like modern society really. Building for the future means nothing to them, if only X-factor was on every night to keep them busy with their lack of patience and understanding. Props mate.
willian scores 2 why can lennon never contribute with goals
love that from Celtic. fantastic stuff. well done spurs youngsters, i think this could be the best generation to come through the ranks at WHL for a long while but then again i aint been around that long...
an in terms of dembele, probably the most important player for us id say just because he balances the team and is the link man between defence and attack which is vital to the way we play. and we dont have a natrual replacement for him when he doesnt play. its no coincedence that weve not done so well while hes been away.
Back to VS after long break. I don't see Dembele being fit for Arsenal game. Tough 2 weeks for us coming up against City away & Arsenal away. I want Ade to start tomorrow against Maribor and perform well and hopefully he will start against City.
Yeah syd, I have been thinking recently where is that syd guy from Brisbane. Welcome back. Holiday?
Incredible - Celtic had 16% possession and still won the game.
Mad, no mate - too much work. I have taken 2 days off and enjoying the early morning games. What about you ? Got anything in the cup on tuesday ? I got royally fecked in Melbourne cup.
No, I'm not the horse racing type. I did spend $20 on a quick pick for the 110mil Ozlotto. Won 6th division. It paid $14. I know, did not get my money back but it's ok. Have a great day syd. Talk later.
Mad, I didnt bet much either just 10$ but my only bet lost first 4. My 4th one came 5th and if I had it, should ve paid 250k (: Anyway, its just for fun. Regarding Spurs though, I hope it doesnt go down hill with 2 tough games coming up.
Great result for the youngsters tonight in the Nextgen competition, 4-1 against Barcelona. Well done young Spurs.
Great news aout Dembele! Like your line up Yidmarks, looks pretty formidable to me...I would like to see Parker get back into some playing time soon, he's a leader on the pitch and we need that...COYS
Cheers Crissy mate, you know as well as I do that 'those people' will never change. Not sure if you've seen the opinions of SRV BUT he & I are very much on the same page at the moment. He, like you, is able to understand the fact that we are missing the spine of our team, and have done for most of the season so far. He understands that we have brought in a manager with an obvious clear target of making the most of our new training facility, new squad, new system etc etc, for the LONG TERM. As you said, 'those people' are expecting results yesterday, which, in my opinion, is plain stupid!!. Hopefully patience will be learnt & an understanding can be gained. I won't be holding my breath though!!
Oh yeah while I'm at it. I see Forster had yet another world class performance in goal for Celtic lastnight. If only somebody on here had suggested making a move for him in the summer when he was available, and before Celtic picked him up for around £3million :-(..
coopsieyid we could have had another keeper on the bench....;) I'm all for bringing through the youth (as long as we scoure the globe) but that strategy alone won't win us'll just turn us into a selling club...btw what is long-term? 2, 5, 10 years? how long should people be prepared to wait to take the extra step from the 4th place finish last year?
As far as the first team goes, I say that this season is the bedding in season and, hopefully, the season in which Levy backs AVB by signing players he actually wants. IF this happens & IF the supporters allow AVB a bit of support, then we can start to judge him in his first proper season, next season. However, the benefits of the new training complex etc could EASILY take a minimum of the maximum timescale you suggested. And because I love repeating myself, look at the players we've lost from last seasons 4th place finishing team. To expect an immediate step up from that position = madness.
No manager gets all the players they want, never happened, never will but granted AVB should be backed- why do you suppose he wasn't in the summer? After all we didn't lose the players, we sold them, at a substantial profit I may add. Or perhaps he did sanction Gylfi, Dempsey, Lloris & co? I'm not expecting a step up from 4th but I would expect us to still compete and to have started putting together some performances by now that we're a quarter of the way through the season, out of the league cup and had a few Europa games under our belt. If AVB starts getting the team playing he'll get support, if he doesn't he won't...brutal but that's football. Just hope Levy understands it cause he'll be in the firing line this time if it all goes Pete Tong....
If AVB had been properley backed, we would still have Moutinho despite Dembele's injury and Willian to put pressure on the others. I agree about the 'instant success trend', not just on here, but at WHL too. The atmosphere is awful, we are booed off at half time when only 0-0 etc. The same goes for those (BIGC) slating Sigg. Give the lad a chance to develop and thrive. Hope we win by five tonight or the boo boys will be out - remember, only winning 2-1 away at Saints was shocking & how DARE they not roll over for us. COYS
shedboy - You know as well as I do, the manager does NOT sell players, nor does he negotiate the massive profit we make. As I said several times yesterday, and I truly hated saying it because I've ALWAYS backed him, but the finger of blame must, in my opinion, be pointed straight in the direction of Daniel Levy. The whole world knew ALL SUMMER that AVB wanted Moutinho, just as the whole world knew that Moutinho wanted to play for AVB. So WHY was our move seemingly made on the very last day of the transfer window? Are we expected to believe that Levy didn't know about this supposed 'third party ownership/interest' in Moutinho? I don't buy that for a second!! I personally think AVB has been somewhat hung out to dry.

Windle - No need to tell you I agree with your post.
