Dembele back for Arsenal?
Andre Villa-Boas has confirmed that Mousa Dembele won't have surgery to solve his hip injury and as a result may be available for the North London Derby in the 17th
Spurs have lost three and drawn one of the five games without Dembele, which perhaps highlights his importance and also raises the argument that he is probably the one player that we simply don't have cover for in the current squad. Though he wont be fit to face Maribor or Man City, his possible return against Arsenal will be seen as a major boost.
Speaking of the situation, Villas_Boas said: 'We could either give him surgery immediately, but there is no certainty it will cure the problem. Or he could rest, have manual therapy, train in the swimming pool.
'That allows the player the possibility of return within 10-15 days, so we are taking that option at the moment, without having the surgery.'
Though the fact that Dembele wont have surgery, I do have concerns that the 'Manual Therapy' AVB claims will be used instead, wont actually clear up the problem, but only temporarily sort it out, with the hope that is doesn't happen again. The player suffered the same injury last season, so although scans indicate that an operation wont definitely sort out the problem, not doing so, might not sort anything out in the long term either...
