Sometime around lunchtime today, Tottenham's next European opponents will be revealed.
In fact, If I'm not mistaken, not only will our next opponents be discovered, but should we win that game, we will already know the two possible teams we could face in the last sixteen, as UEFA like to double up their draws, which perhaps saves them some cash, but certainly saves the rest of us the immense boredom of these events.
Frustratingly for Spurs they have made their life more difficult that it could have ideally have been in finishing runners up to Lazio in the group stage. Those dropped points could prove costly as we now have to face either a group winner or a few teams from the Champions league, who finished third place and therefore sneak back into European competition via the back entrance.
At the risk of forgetting one team and then being embarrassed at our drawing them, here is the list of potential teams we could face in the next round: Viktoria Pizen, Fernabache, Bordeaux, Steaua Bucharest, Dnipro, Racing Genk, Rubin Kazan, Lyon, Mentalist Kharkiv, Hannover 96, Olympiakos, Benfica or CFR Cluj.
