I like the way we set up away from home. Should have enough for championship opposition. We are currently third!

Doesn't look like Modric is going to get a game today. If this continues I can see him moving on in the summer. I think that he'd return to the EPL, but I doubt he'd return to us. Maybe he'd go to United as they need a playmaker to replace Scholes.

My 2 best players in the last 10 years were Berbatov & Modric .

How they have fallen & how i`d love them both back here ,with them 2 we could be contenders imo .

Berbatov V Adebuywhore is not even a debate .

I said that Modric would be a united player within the year when he signed for Real so feeling pretty clever at the mo. He was never cut out for that side.

Glad he is suffering at Madrid! Hopefully bale is taking notes, although bale is a more effective exciting player so would definitely do better than modric, the Spanish just don't understand modrics qualities.

Once we get a new playmaker who can play behind the striker, we'd have moved on from Modric anyway. I prefer Dembele to him to be honest. He may not be able to pass like Modric, but his all round game is better.

With Modric he was the main man in a deep lying capacity, at Madrid Alonso is the man so they won't see the best of him until they trust him to run the show, I don't get why you'd pay all that money and then play him differently to where and how he played in a previous team. With regards to the draw I feel we can really beat anyone home or away so I'm not as concerned as I used to be with playing tough away games.

Brooksy, I suspect that if we got Moutinho, Parker and Sandro would be the rocks and Moutinho and Dembele the pushers in MF. The great thing is that Dembele can also play wide or in behind a striker where he could share time with Holtby. I still expect AVB to go back to a 4-5-1 once we have a striker that can suit the purpose. It will all eventually come to a head, although injuries have a way of keeping others playing. Moutinho, Dembele, Sandro, Parker all expect to play. It's where City is going to see some discontent. Out of Europe. Out of League Cup. At most they have 23 games to share between all the players they have. Basically a game a week for the balance of the season. All of their players want to play. Not pretty. COYS

Your probably right Ibiza yiddo, I hope Parker stays as I hope Dawson stays because these two players really sum up the English attitude of to never give up, always fight until the end, something which could rub off on all our current players and incoming players.

Brooksy, as Ibiza said, Parker will go, might be now or in summer. Jenas, Hudd and Livermore will also go. I would imagine Carroll will be on loan somewhere. That leaves Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey, Siggy and Holtby. 5 for 3 positions, with the last 3 possibly playing wide as well. If will be a smaller squad next year and I would imagine European football as well.

I agree with Fanman, Modric had some nice incisive passes but he just doesn't dance the way dembele does. To be honest, i do not miss modric at all in our team. Any transfer goss out there? :)

After yesterday it is pretty clear we have two teams and both are good enough to beat Leeds or brum. Coventry fans really need to take look at themselves, singing pro Arsenal chants and demeaning themselves is equal to racism, FA should investigate.

On a different subject I'm starting worry about Adebayor, he is getting very close to being considered the new Darren Bent, needs (and could have had yesterday) a hatrick.

silver_inca, agreed. The way that Dembele plays is very easy on the eye. He's very strong on the ball too, with a thunderbolt shot. What I never expected was for him to be so good defensively. He and Sandro really compliment each other and work well together. Sandro gets forward and joins attacks these days too. As you say, the only thing that we miss from Modric are those incisive passes.

T.H.F.Chris, agreed. He needs to up his game. He looks a shadow of his last season self, but then, he was possibly playing for a contract. His hold up play is good, but his passing has been really, really poor. He needs to give the ball sooner and be accurate. I remember him recently holding up the ball after Bale passed it to him. He held it up for an age while Bale was screaming for a return pass. Instead of passing it to Bale he passed it backwards and the chance was gone. Needless to say Bale was fuming. He really messed up not having a pre-season due to sorting out his money with City. The thing is, we all know that he can do much better than he's doing now. I feel that we bought him more out of desperation than choice, as Defoe was our only recognised striker, but it was a no brainer based on his last season performance.

Good draw we should be ok but rather have Birmingham shorter journey.

As for comments about Modric we do not need him any more and I am sure he will stay at RM and fight for his place. I thought it was a gamble as he is not young any more and needing a season to adapt to the step up of playing for RM is not ideal.

Fanman I reckon he was bought because of that and we knew we could sell him for a profit, QPR £11m is my bet. So far AVB has got most things right but the decision to have just two strikers could be really bad come may...

T.H.F.Chris, hopefully we'll get another striker in. As we all know, we need someone clinical up front, that could prove the difference this season. I reckon Ade will be with us for a couple of seasons, he'll improve I think. He definately has it in him

In-spurs-ational, I dunno, he might be reasonable about it. His left-foot is a magic wand, plus he could unlock defences. His fitness was a big issue though, 65 minutes and he was knackered. Still we could use him against park the bus teams. Sigurdsson is determined, maybe he'll come good. He was ok against reading, wish I saw him play yesterday, he has a nice touch and skill, but he seems to lack pace?

Sigurdsson played well yesterday, definitely determined, won the ball back if ever lost. Hasn't really been productive yet but like Dempsey probably just needs a home goal to get some confidence. Speaking of Dempsey really glad he is coming good, he could play behind Defoe is Ade doesn't get his act together.

Seeing as Birmingham are at home in the replay the odds are in their favour to play us in Rd.4, personally I think we can/ and had better beat either comfortably. Failure would say we didn't deserve to progress.

Fanman, you never know I suppose. Problem with re- signing players is that you never know if they will perform at the same level as before. We've had more than our far share of players returning to us. I reckon it's been a mixed bag of hit and miss.

Frank, Birmingham may be at home but they are 20th in the league as opposed to Leeds who are 8th. Although there is only 9 points between them, which is less than the difference between us and Swansea. So it could go either way. I hope Birmingham win. Not only do I think that will be the easier game (although we should beat Leeds as well), but I might even be able to make it

I do find a certain fans on here (No guesses who im talking about) opinions quite odd. According to this poster , Harry was basically pure filth the way he disrespected the club and Adebayor is the biggest traitor ever....... yet he would "would love to have Modric and Berbatov back here" mr lazy ******** sulk who jumped in a taxi to Man Utd without our permission and Mr "Goes on strike to force a move, TWICE" back. Modric disrespected the club more than anyone in the last 20 years with the exception of Sol Campbell. His behaviour towards Levy and his public request to join Chelsea. Yet come back all is forgiven. But "Adebuywhore" because of his wage can ***** off. Where is the logic? I understand in football terms they were both sublime. Its just when you go at so many lengths to slate both Arry and Ade for their lack of loyalty/respect for the club so many times who you can then say you'd love Judas back is beyond me. But then again so is your hatred of Aaron Lennon, your praise of the EDL and your previous racism towards fellow Spurs fans on here.

I totally an wholeheartedly agree HuddersfieldYido, some on here advocate a policy of if you kicked in the knackers to simply invite the kicker to have another go, they never learn. On the point of respect for this club, in my view neither Berbatoss or rodent face are just not welcome back no matter how good they are, and it appears Adebayor maybe in the same category.
