AVB Wins Barclays manager of the month!

AVB Wins Barclays manager of the month!

Andre Villas-Boas has been awarded the Barclays manager of the month award for December.

Spurs won four and drew one of their six Premiership games and of course currently sit third in the table. Based not only on performance, but an ever improving style of play, it is easy to see why AVB has picked up the prize for the first time.

Speaking of the award, AVB Said: 'It`s been an excellent December for us and we've managed to put ourselves in the kind of position that we want to be. We sit third in the league, but it is where we finish at the end of the season that matters.'

Fully deserved. I'm pleased that he remains focused on trying to keep us third or better by the end of the season. That will make a nice change if he can do it!

Deserved, rival fans and pundits alike were predicting a season of doom and gloom without Harry, modric and vdv. Instead we are going from strength to strength

Agree with AVB, it's a manager of the month award, not manager of the season, long way to go.

Really pleased for AVB .
Got some harsh treatment from some in the media & especially talksport .Great way to shove it down their throats .
After the Wigan game even fans who backed him (me included ) thought ,Was this the right move ?
Got to give credit to levy too ,made a very risky decision & it is proving to be the right one .
AVB all the way ,really doing the business & lets hope we end on a high

I was glad when AVB was appointed and was convinced he would be a good manager for us, good to see he's being recognised and it seems like he is enjoying spurs far more than chelsea (obviously). But we need to not get carried away as the league is so tight all the good work could slip away in a moment! COYS

Good to also see Lloris nominated for player of the month ,great signing .
I think Suarez will get it (again ) best player in the EPL at the moment ,but Lloris deserves it to .

IMO Hugo Lloris is the best goalkeeper we have had for over 20 years

Total knobhead I championed avb last feb/march he was screwed over by abramovich and the Chelsea old guard, was promised modric and got meireles etc. his Chelsea tenure was no reflection of his abilities

Well done AVB and team, deserved. Now lets push on and have the best second half to a season we ever have had. A major part of this will be the form that is begining to show with all the squad, very good work in getting everybody a game now and then, very good management. Yes we need another striker but if we fail to complete a deal for a player that is worth while then I am ok with it, do not want us to buy a dud.

firstly congrats to AVB, but not just him, his entire management team! I have been a Spurs fan since '81, and i have to say, this is the fittest team i have seen in possily 2 decades. our on field injuries this season have been minimal, and short term, a testimony to the prep of the backroom staff. Indeed the only major injuries are rhe carry over from last seasons over played team. On a different note, hat do you think is going to happen if we dont sign a new ready-to-start striker with Ade here in Africa? With us finallyhaving a coach who can improve induvidual skills and employ Arry's fav cuss word, TACTICS, i think AVB will reort to his favored 4-5-1 formation, with Bale being encouraged to alternate with Dempsey and play the AM role in the pocket behind Defoe. Now i know Arry tried this, but remember, Bale was told to have a run around, now he will be coached to play this posi properly. i shdder to think what will happen if he starts running at defenders, and Dempsey and Defoe attack space, like Lineker used to. and unlike Defoe and Ade, he can Pass and finish. Benni and Dempsey can both cover lhs mid when he roams around. Just a thought. COYS, kick arry's A R S E

The man's humility and intelligence is matched only by his excellence and attention to detail. His 'we we we' philosophy out-weighs the 'me me me' philosophy, every day.
