AVB Wins Barclays manager of the month!

Andre Villas-Boas has been awarded the Barclays manager of the month award for December.

Spurs won four and drew one of their six Premiership games and of course currently sit third in the table. Based not only on performance, but an ever improving style of play, it is easy to see why AVB has picked up the prize for the first time.

Speaking of the award, AVB Said: 'It`s been an excellent December for us and we've managed to put ourselves in the kind of position that we want to be. We sit third in the league, but it is where we finish at the end of the season that matters.'

Fully deserved. I'm pleased that he remains focused on trying to keep us third or better by the end of the season. That will make a nice change if he can do it!
SpuriousLife
If only Gallas stayed awake for a few more mins this season then we would have been sitting prettier in the League...especially in that Everton game...oh well you are where you and we have done well if not spectacular...now to push on....Fancy Dempsey to get couple 2moro COYMFS!!!
JattYid
Well deserved too!. Well done!. Hope there's many more to come. The statement he made just shows how level headed he is. Respect, COYS!
Critical_Spur
Oh, and the same goes for the comments he made answering Arry's jibe!
Critical_Spur
Well done andre and the guys, the first of many we hope!

JattYid
With all the hype going on this week, it's nice to read something that is true, well done AVB and the back room staff and players. Let get back to football tomorrow and another 3pts in the bag.

aagh, the curse of Manager of the month!!!
shedboy2
I though the wheels were supposed to have fallen off by now!
oxfordspur
Deserved, rival fans and pundits alike were predicting a season of doom and gloom without Harry, modric and vdv. Instead we are going from strength to strength

AVB OUT!!!

Lots of intensity in the intense award of manager of the month, but intensity must be maintained - especially against gob*****e tomorrow.
Windlespur
Yep !...Congrats' and thoroughly deserved. Hope you get many more, this season plus.

Can someone go back through the archives to find which commenters supported hiring AVB and which thought it was a ridiculous mistake? lol.
Total knobhead
Ox, the wheels have fallen off, AVB has been voted manager of the month and we all know, it's downhill from there!!!
spurboy61
Agree with AVB, it's a manager of the month award, not manager of the season, long way to go.
Guyver
I was glad when AVB was appointed and was convinced he would be a good manager for us, good to see he's being recognised and it seems like he is enjoying spurs far more than chelsea (obviously). But we need to not get carried away as the league is so tight all the good work could slip away in a moment! COYS

It's no time to rest on laurels but it's great recognition of the consistency shown of late. Well done the whole team, players and staff.
Love totty
Total knobhead I championed avb last feb/march he was screwed over by abramovich and the Chelsea old guard, was promised modric and got meireles etc. his Chelsea tenure was no reflection of his abilities
spurticus87
big c totally agree lloris really does look world class!
wiltshirespur
Fully deserved. He's running the club like a BOAS.
Crissybwoy
Well done AVB and team, deserved. Now lets push on and have the best second half to a season we ever have had. A major part of this will be the form that is begining to show with all the squad, very good work in getting everybody a game now and then, very good management. Yes we need another striker but if we fail to complete a deal for a player that is worth while then I am ok with it, do not want us to buy a dud.

P.S. LOL @ Roman Ascamabitch

AVB, will end up at Real Madrid. But not before he builds something a little special with us.
asherthesmasher
firstly congrats to AVB, but not just him, his entire management team! I have been a Spurs fan since '81, and i have to say, this is the fittest team i have seen in possily 2 decades. our on field injuries this season have been minimal, and short term, a testimony to the prep of the backroom staff. Indeed the only major injuries are rhe carry over from last seasons over played team. On a different note, hat do you think is going to happen if we dont sign a new ready-to-start striker with Ade here in Africa? With us finallyhaving a coach who can improve induvidual skills and employ Arry's fav cuss word, TACTICS, i think AVB will reort to his favored 4-5-1 formation, with Bale being encouraged to alternate with Dempsey and play the AM role in the pocket behind Defoe. Now i know Arry tried this, but remember, Bale was told to have a run around, now he will be coached to play this posi properly. i shdder to think what will happen if he starts running at defenders, and Dempsey and Defoe attack space, like Lineker used to. and unlike Defoe and Ade, he can Pass and finish. Benni and Dempsey can both cover lhs mid when he roams around. Just a thought. COYS, kick arry's A R S E

ps, if AVB is in the running for Jan FeB And Mar, glory Days!!!!
10iscoach
Big up A.V.B and all the playing and backroom staff. AVB seems like a cool guy. Hope we can sign Willian from Shaktar now they've signed Taison.

AVB OUT!!!! how dare he get the MOM award, how dare he state 3rd is not good enough he wants more .... sorry twitchy has to come back and out us in our place we are idiots we need to collapse like we do under twitchy, well done AVB, i just hope he gets the players to stuff QPR and watch twitchy sitting there nodding and being shown up for the clueless manager he is needs a lesson in real football and AVB is the one to show his tactical superior over him

well done AVB, stick to your guns, and don't get dragged down by chelski or Redknapp "It's a similar group to the one I left" yes of course it is apart from king modric vdv dembele naughton vertonghen lloris dempsey and siggy oh and BAE Parker and Kaboul out. wind your window up Harry and mind your own business.

The man's humility and intelligence is matched only by his excellence and attention to detail. His 'we we we' philosophy out-weighs the 'me me me' philosophy, every day.
Crissybwoy
Much respect to the more cerebral amongst us that didn't write him off in September, so clever and wise that they got it entirely wrong.
