So for the umpteenth window we are again going all out for Leandro Damiao or so the ITKs and media are speculating. It seems that he was a teenage prospect when he was first mooted, by the time we get him, perhaps he will be a seasoned pro, or even a has-been/never-been. Some suggest that a deal has been agreed, whilst others claim it simply won't happen. I am going to play safe and sit firmly on the fence, however, if I wanted to play the percentages, I would say that we will again be frustrated with the Brazilian, and as for anyone else…
With talk that Jermain Defoe could be out for a month and Adebayor away at the African Cup of Nations, we really have problems in attack, and though Clint Dempsey is a decent short term option, he isn't a natural No9 in my opinion and is much better and more effective attacking from deeper positions, but perhaps if we are unable to source a short or long term solution, I suppose it is a straight choice between him, Jon Obika or reverting back to the summers pre season and going with Gareth Bale and if all else fails, would that be a serious consideration in preference to other compromises?
Perhaps there is a mini bargain in Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo at somewhere between £12 and 15m, but in reality I have no idea whether he is a serious consideration or the media making up their usual guesswork. The same applies to Hamburg's young South Korean prospect Son Heung-min. His age and ability to sell shirts in Asia might well appeal to Mr Levy, however I have no idea how good he is until my son checks him out on FIFA 13, when he gets home from school. Perhaps we can buy Gary Hooper from Celtic and see the Darren Bent/Steven Pienaar/Jermaine Jenas derision factor make him an instant flop in the eyes of 50% of enlightened fans, in a how to win over fans purchase from the club.
Who, if anyone we get, might well depend on our ability to win the agent war, or pay over the odds in our potential desperation to have a striker. Surely if we lose Defoe until the end of next month, you assume the situation will force the club to find a deal from somewhere. If that is a usual last minute deadline day deal, then so be it. just as long as he is a brilliant player and one that we all approve of...

Hmm, fits in perfectly with Levy's usual transfer negotiation schedule.
www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
I have heard he is actually avaliable in summer, with Inter linked;
"He is the plan B to Edin Dzeko. Leandro Damiao is an idea that Inter have for the summer transfer window." The player’s agent has come out and confirmed the many inquiries that he has received over time especially from Europe. “I have not received any offer so far. But I can say that recently many inquiries have arrived and they keep coming. He is a highly sought after player especially from Europe. However, right now, he is very happy at Internacional and finding himself doing very well under the guidance of Dunga.”
And i read this report that AVB was planning for summer aswell;
"Rather than accept a lower-cost alternative – Levy looked at Loic Remy before the France international signed for Queens Park Rangers – it is understood that Villas-Boas has proposed that spending be delayed until the close season when Damiao is expected to be attainable".
Odemwinger maybe....
I think it`s madness that a pro EPL club going for top 4 & the riches of the CL has found itself in this situation .
through desperation names like Bent,Hooper & Balotelli are getting thrown in the hat .Maybe keeping Pav weren`t such a good idea ?
Got to go for Huntelaar or Lenadro ,Negredo etc buying for the sake of it is counter productive
Ballotelli & Adebayor ? which one will be the bigger (unt ?
How about a cheeky bid for gregorz Rasiak & Sergei Rebrov ,all is forgiven lads .

If Defoe has serious pelvis issues (if it requires surgery, one can only assume it is) there is no way he is training, working out or doing anything at 100%. COYS
I like Pa***** Cisse too .
Benteke is very lazy for me & when i`ve seen him doesn`t try as hard he should imo.
,br>If Swansea can nab Michu then why can`t we sign someone of his callibre ? Surely Spurs have Scouts with so much more info & knowledge than we have .
Do Spurs have scouts ? 6 windows to find a striker & still .................
Balotelli has issues, to be sure, but he is a prodigious talent, he's 22 and has a point to prove. I would have more confidence in him hitting the ground running than Leandro. We need help now, not in 6-12 months (fair bedding in time) COYS
,br>Defoe has scored more times coming off the bench than any other EPL player since it was formed .That really tells you something about Defoe .
A - ..Every manager ends up benching him
B-..He needs the defence to be at it`s weakest .A fresh Defoe against tiring defenders is a superb option to have .Solksjaer & Hernadez are the same ,Paul Walsh was similar
Just don`t see Benteke with potential , but next year may rip it up
Michu does score some nice goals ,but is his overall contribution to the team enough ?
At the end of the day .......it gets dark :) .
Seriously at the end of the day this squad will be very very lucky to get 4th . 4th gets you around 50 million . Spend £30 million on 2 strikers wisely , they will pay for themselves .
You cannot spend a fortune if you are nowhere ,i wouldn`t say sitting 4th & smelling CL is nowhere .We spent £50 million last summer but sold £ 50 million , there`s money somewhere because the maths are there .
Yes, micyid, indeed I have a new line of designer formations coming out in a Spring collection under the brand name, 4-6-0. My agents are negotiating now with some lad named Messi as a brand spokesman.
---
"Micyid if you look up Total Knobhead's e-mail address its d.levy@gmail.com I think our transfer busniess over the last 18 months makes a lot more sense now! ;-)," Slurms McKenzie.
Gadszooks, Slurms, your sense of humor has left me weak kneed. The idea that I am DL! The man is bald, for sake of the gods, and I have locks that fall over my aged shoulders. He has money, I have IOUs that never will be paid. He has put together a team with Dempsey and Siggurdson pretending to play striker. I would play a 4-6-0!
Seriously, mates, DL and I have quite different motivations. His is to get more rich. Mine is to have a better quality laugh in the face of the absurdity of having a current roster with no available striker. COYSS.
It's called beating a trope to death, micyid. It's a technique perfected by academics when they tried to take over English Music Hall performance in the 1950s. As the great Jewish comic, Jesus, said: Take my life, please.
I disagree, at least in the implied strength of your assertion, Wilts. Not only do we currently have the weakest strike force, we have NO strike force.
The new breed of steward are not to be messed with Big C!
If we're only going to bring in a striker because we're light, I'd rather have Graham than Hooper. Graham at least has already done it in the Prem, Hooper hasn't.
And yes, the 4-6-0 gauge model train set was great. Had one on the floor under my father's piano when I was a wee lad. It taught me that what goes around comes around, as model trains always run in circles (or off the tracks), much likd football teams with players out of position.
For a player that cost £15 million + that is not a great return & he is far from being a great player .He doesn`t love Spurs ,only himself .Only has love when things are going his way .
I respect Defoe because he has tried his best ,but his best is not good enough .Never has been & never will ,harsh but true .The only person who actually thinks Defoe is a world class striker is himself ,his arrogance does not match his talent .
Forget excuses for Defoe ,we need better or top 4 is gone .Defoe should never be the main man ,best as a cameo because a reliable source of consistent good performances & goals he is not .
No, no, big c. The correct expression is "Hello McFly." How easily you forget.
•Tottenham Hotspur have used a league-high 27 players already this season in the Premier League.
•Norwich have collected just one point from their last six Premier League games (L5 D1), fewer than any other side over this period
•Only once in PL history have Tottenham had more points than their 41 after 23 games this season (49 points last season).
With Hotby we'll be on 28 players!!!....Some record!
Norwich tomorrow could be a sign on things to come, we are unbeaten in 7, their last win was 7 games ago. Got to win!!
On the bright side, at least we didn't get Balotelli, most over rated piece of s hit in football.
Our Man Clint!
Nite!
Levy will be begging for Togo to lose... so he can save a few pennies.
I actually think that with Ade back asap... we have a good first X1..and i hope we can see the team look like this by the time we meet Newcastle...
