A Cosy Chat with Vital Stoke City.

A Cosy Chat with Vital Stoke City.

You recently had a site poll, where around 90% of Stoke fans wanted Tony Pulis out. So will he stay or go?
There is a lot of speculation over this fact. Pulis continues to come out in the media and reiterate that he is going nowhere, but there has still been no confirmation from the Coates family.
I really wouldn`t be surprised if Pulis moved upstairs this season and another manager comes in to take over first team duties.
This is the most likely with current Director of Football John Rudge leaving in the summer and a replacement hasn`t been announced yet.
For those of you wanting to play a more attractive brand of football, do you look at a club like Wolves and worry that taking a different route will end in similar fashion?
I wouldn`t say it`s exactly the need for a more attractive brand of football, just not to be so negative, especially away from home. This season it look like the buck had been changed when we went to Old Trafford and had a real go. Yes, we knew we were going to lose, so why not have ago and come away with it with some credit. Fans were becoming genuinely excited to go to places like Old Trafford again, but it wasn`t long until these games became so called 'bonus` games once again, and they turned into damage limitation.
This being one of the reasons why we had a dreadful dip at the turn of the year. We were 10 games unbeaten and just came off our performance of the season beating Liverpool 3-1, and the Potters faithful actually saw a result at a shaky Man City as a possibility, but the capped one once again come out in the press and basically gave City the victory before a ball was kicked.
As much as I try to justify your current brand of football, it really isn't good to watch. Are you happy to accept 'anti-football' if it keeps you in the Prem?
If you asked me this question last season, then I`d just say we were playing to our strengths and that it`s effective for us, and as long as we`re getting points then it doesn`t matter how you get them surely!?
But this season, we have injected a number of creative ball players, and it looked like our play would continue to evolve (like it has every season in the league) but Pulis has the irritating knack of playing players out of position and putting shackles on certain players. Players such as N`Zonzi and Adam have the ability to change games on their own, but it`s always safety first with Pulis.
Are you almost certainly safe this season. If Pulis stays, what else has to change to improve your performances next season?
His attitude. He needs to stop being so negative, especially away from home. The way he conducts himself in the press at times is embarrassing and his 'arse-licking` of certain teams and managers just puts the club down, in fact it is stopping the club moving forward.
He continues to portray us a little old Stoke, and who would want to come play for us, etc. BUT we have top class training facilities, a possible stadium expansion coming up and we`re the second oldest league side in the world, with half a decade`s worth of Premier League experience under our belt now! We`re not little anymore; I`d go as far as to say we`re an established Premier League squad.
He needs to just stop aiming for 40 points, and then just relaxing as well! Rant over :)
So who will nick the Champions league places and which team will get relegated?
As I started writing this Chelsea were 1-0 down and down to 10 men, but they have since equalised and Villa have a player sent off, so I think Chelsea will definitely take one of the spots, and I`d prefer you to take it over Arsenal, I think Stoke must be the only club to have nearly as much hatred of Wenger and his players than you have, but I just can`t see them slipping up in their last two games and I think we will cause you problems, so I`m going have to say Arsenal as well.
In your questions, I said I only rated Begovic as a player that I would want at Spurs. Is that harsh? Who am I missing that I should have noticed?
No I`d say that is fair, you`re challenging Champions League football whereas we`ve had to scrap for our lives, but I think a few players could sneak in your team. N`Zonzi would be an ideal natural replacement for Parker.
So what would be your best team if you combined the Stoke and Spurs squads?
Begovic; Walker, Shawcross, Dawson, Verthongen; Dempsey, N`Zonzi, Dembele, Bale; Adebayor Defoe
How do you see this weekends game going?
I really can`t see us losing. The crowd are going be up for it with this game being the designated 150th year celebratory game. There is a lot going on before and during the game, and it will be somewhat of a carnival feel and hopefully this can push on the players to grab a result. My heart says 2-1, but head says 1-1.

I hate stoke city rugby club , all they do is hoof it high and someone shouts charge. They should be told football is played with the feet, with the ball on the ground not with hands and arms wrapped around the opposition with the ball 40ft in the air. That said they will probably finished off our season tomorrow as when we have to win we fail. I really hope i'm wrong and we stuff them.

Off Topic Lads, but I'd like to congratulate Wigan Athletic Football Club, current FA Cup winners after beating Top Dollar powered Manchester City in Wembley. Had they played the whole season the way they did today and would be far from being relegation threatened. Let's hope this historical win, which rescues some of the Fa Cup Magic, inspires them to beat Arsenal next tuesday. If they do it, I'll order a Wigan shirt for my collection...

With you there Alexspur, maybe we could try and sign that mcmanaman guy, he looks a fine player!
11/05/2013 19:26:00
Jantheman i was thinking the same thing. He is direct ,similar to lennon, so is a great option which would strenghen us especially when Lennon gets injured as he usually does. If wigan do go down we should strike before anyone else.
spurfect one

Sorry, that is an awful joint team. Dempsey ahead of Lennon. Lloris? Sandro! Come on be serious. Can't believe you guys want Pulis out. You are now an established premiership team, been in Europe and you want more.

We have to win but then I said the same before our Wigan and Chelsea games so have to expect a draw and the end of champions league dream for another year,
