U-21 Play off Semi Final: Spurs v Everton

Despite winning the Elite Group of the Newly formed Barclays U-21 tournament, Spurs entertain Everton in a semi final play off at WHL tonight (KO 7pm)

Everton started the competition slowly, finishing 4th in the National Group 1 section, but were far mor convincing in the second phase, where they topped the Group 1 (effectively the second tier), being unbeaten in their twelve games, winning six and drawing six. In total, Everton, who are managed by former player Alan Stubbs, are now unabated in sixteen games, so despite playing a level lower that Spurs, are potentially a very decent opposition and at this young age, teams can suddenly find their feet and excel.

Spurs have recalled Jordan Archer, Alex Pritchard and Jon Obika to the starting XI, following their return to the club after loans and the team is as follows: Archer; Fredericks, Fryers, Hall, Stewart; Bentaleb, Carroll, Veljkovic; Pritchard, Obika, Ceballos. Subs: Miles, Barthram, Nicholson, Gallifuoco, McEvoy.

miami I agree 100%, its a real shame the Club don't show the games to us fans. If nothing else it'd be an extra source of revenue from advertising.... I also nearly put COYYS but I thought people would think it was a typo! Lmao COYYS

TSS-hopefully they have been watching the seniors and will play until the final whistle (with the customary goal in the last 10 mins ;))

Oh yes, COYYS! 3-2, it looks like they have been watching the seniors after all, goal in the 89 min.!
Well done lads, i love this late goal, never give up attitude that is becoming more and more present in our game.
Good report on HotspurHq website if anyone wants to read or on the Thfc official site
Good for the lads. The coaching staff has done a great job getting a constantly changing squad to excel. Every game like this builds character. Sounds like Carroll controlled things, Obika could have scored 4 or 5 (not slagging, suggesting he gets in good positions), Pritchard did well, Ceballos did well and McEvoy and Benteleb played their part too. Also sounds like Archer acquitted himself very well. On to the winner of ManU/Liverpool. Great experience for the club's kids. COUS
Wow, it's looking like we own the last 10 min of games, screw Fergie time this is TotTENham Time ;-)
Now come on Wigan, make this a glorious week.
Well done to the boys in getting to the final and good luck in winning it.tommey carroll did not get enough minutes for the first team this season,my only problem with avb!but Who are my.coys and come on the wigan the masters of escape! Wigan wigan yo.
Little spur
Futures bright...
Hurray - 'arry wants to take Parker to QPR. If QPR is fine to pay 5m for him, I say sell him and add Livemore as a bonus. Paker has been good but we can get a decent replacement for him - Iwould go for James Mccarthy from Wigan or possibly Sneiderlin from Southampton.
Pardew back tracked yesterday and said he was only joking abt the 4-0 remark. What an idiot!
Mad, haha every barcode is now on his back. I hope this makes them try even harder to get a decnt result against Arsenal.
If Wigan manages to pull off an upset tomorrow, we are back in the box seat. I also like Wigan and in particular Roberto Martinez. I hope they can stay up too though I know it is a big ask. I am prepared for the worse, with Arsenal winning their last 2 games thereby consigning us to Europa. It's ok.

Just on the side, in the event that we do squeeze into CL with Arsenal slipping and us winning our last game, I feel our current side do not have enough quality across all positions and depth in squad to do us justice in the Champions League. We definitely will need appropriate reinforcement but will it happen?
Mad, I have this horrible feeling that, Arsenal vs Wigan could be 1-1 at 90min and Wigan send their keepr upfront desperately looking for a goal, only to Arsenal to counter and get a final minute winner.
Don't get me started on their keeper. I want us to pip Arsenal to 4th just to rub it on his smug face, if nothing else.
If Arsenal are as professional and as good as they believe they are then CL will be theirs, after all their years of experience they should finish the job off. I am praying they don't but if they do as much as I will be disappointed I will get over it as we all will and move on to next season.

Either way CL or Europa I like us having mid week games, however we will need reinforcements because we miss our on CL then lessons this time need to be learned, our squad is not strong enough to keep the momentum going all season, come January we start to feel the effects. Plus we cannot go through another season with the current strikers that would be just plain silly.

If we get CL we are not strong enough to compete at that level. So either way there has to be some changes, players leaving players coning in and imo there has to be at least three but would like four.

Back to PL, am looking forward to Wigan v Arsenal tonight. Then weekend we will know, at least it is not like last season where we had to wait for the CL final to see if we got CL or not. Come Sunday it will all be final and next season pres begin. COYS
