One Stop Nonsense Shop..

One Stop Nonsense Shop..

Right, let's start by saying what most of us are probably already aware of, it's Friday, get in there!!

Another thing that most of us are probably already aware of, is that Paulinho is in London (arrived this morning) and he is due to undergo a medical this morning, sign a 4 year deal (according to reports in Brazil), then meet up with AVB this afternoon, Get in there again :) !!

As it stands, we seem a bit short of ITK, so I might as well throw in a bit of breaking news about a rival PL club.

Latest transfer news... Cavani spotted at West Ham!

Oh, no, sorry, Caravan, a caravan was spotted at west ham.....

So, back to us. There was a rumour circulating that 'pirate obsessed' Osvaldo was/is a target for us & a delegate from Roma had come to London for talks with us and Man City, do I believe it? Not really.. Would he be of use to us, in my opinion, absolutely, I think he'd become a bit of a 'cult hero' amongst the WHL faithful, due to the fact that he's a VERY emotional fella who well and truly wears his heart on his sleeve. Not only is he a more than decent goal-scorer, he can also play the wide attacking role too. Not to mention, if we get the record breaking Spanish international striker we've been chasing, we would once again have an 'Ossie & Villa partnership' at THFC. What's not to like about that? :).

It's also worth pointing out that, back in May, one of the ITK's (I can't remember which one) said, 'it will be like summer 78 again'. Oooh!!

Anything else I can waffle on about? Well ! it's me, so of course there is ;)..

Portuguese newspaper 'Record' says Porto are now eager to sell winger 'Christian Atsu', who is keen on leaving for free at the end of the season if they don't transfer him now. Liverpool and Tottenham have supposedly held tentative talks with Porto about Atsu this summer, with the winger declaring hopes of moving to the Premier League in recent weeks... Worth a butchers?

Well, that's a nice stroke of luck. Whilst typing out this epic piece of nonsense, some shiny new ITK has come in, so what w wonderful way to finish :)...

Hey Coops I'm sure I put a link up a day or three back about Villa coming here. It was in the guardian about it and they are usually pretty much on the ball. Also how come Southampton can afford to get Damiao yet we can't get him. Something pretty odd there methinks.

Atsu would be well worth pursuing. Probably 5M GBP ought to do it. He'll be free in a year. Even if we just signed he and Villa up top, it would mean we could choose any three of Ade, Bale, Villa, Atsu, Lennon up top. Atsu, Bale and Villa can play anywhere across the top. Ade could probably too, although width would be compromised. Lennon can play either wing. Atsu would cost half of what Ince would and has a hiher upside (though I believe Ince is better suited to the EPL at this time). COYS

Chrishove - don't worry about the Damiao to Southampton nonsense. It's just his agent trying to give us a nudge to say if we don't make a move soon he'll go somewhere else. As far as I'm concerned Southampton are welcome to him. He and his representatives have messed us around for so long that a spell at Southampton is what they deserve. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that by the end of this transfer window we will have signed two strikers - Villa and Lamela. I hope I'm right!

Damn you Coopsie, just when I'd posted a humourous comment at the end of Muttley's excellent Tighten up article you go and post another wonderful nonsense article and turn all other threads into tumble weed infested ghost towns. Grrr! Still Paulinho getting stretched on the rack and a new spanish house on the way . Three more signings for me - Another striker, LB and winger. Then soem hard truths for the current squad as they are moved on and a few young up and coming diamonds would make this the perfect summer. Didi we ever make an offer for that giant american goalie kid?

Cheers Coops

Osvaldo would be an infectious player alright (not the knob falling off kind) he would be a bit of a pain up front too for defenders, and would really give everything and more for the cause. He is a good player, not the most technical of forwards but get the job done with pest like commitment. I would say yes to him. Probability 4/10

Villa, well this needs to happen for a few reasons. 1. AVB wants him bad it seems. 2. Raises the profile. 3. will do a good job for us in a formation he will understand what is needed of him. 4. look on Gooner faces when he belts a couple past 'em.

Coopsie if he's as good as you describe (I know, as others have described and you've passed on) then hell yes I'm interested. Bernard was the stand out player for Brazil at the Confed cup (Neymar only met expectations!) and was a real game changer for them. He would have been the ideal signing for us this window so any similarly talented players would be welcome.

I think that we are after Villa because he is prolific. He is imo, the best finisher in the game and you don't need pace to do that. He may have lost a yard, but he will get us over 15 goals if he stays fit. In the 4-3-3 formation, he can drift a little anyway, so it will be kinder on his legs.

Spuds & spurs2468 - Sorry fellas, I only do these articles every other day, so I figured I should stick to the routine. At least until things really hot up anyway. Also, I may do another one tomorrow so that Ox is free to enjoy his weekend and we can just chat nonsense amongst ourselves, all Ox will have to do is put the article online. I know people think I'm on some sort of ego trip but I promise that's not the case. Pretty much every article ends up having some sort of transfer story put in it, so I simply feel it's better for people to have one place to take a dump in, so to speak lol...

chris - Who knows about the Southampton/Damiao talk? All I know is that the guy is not worth the £20m+ that they were demanding, so IF that's what Southampton have offered, more fool them. Also, more fool them if they think Damiao would say yes to them, in my opinion..

Guys, there's a bit of negativity creeping into the David Villa chat, too :(.. I'll go track down that piece of info again & let you see for yourselves..

OK, found the David Villa info, this whole post is the info....

Robinbkk on (another site) is in touch with a guy who knows Villa's agent:

Hey Robert,

Good feedback but it's not good.

His agent is indeed negotiating with Tottenham but David Villa is against moving to the Spurs because they don't play the Champions League.

We'll see how it all ends

Cheers,"...........

I think the positive to take from that is the confirmation that Villa (his agent) is negotiating with us. Another thing I find odd about it, is the fact that we, the press, SSN etc etc all KNOW that we've been talking to & are interested in David Villa, and I very much doubt Villa or his representatives weren't aware that we weren't in the CL. They'd have known this from the first moment we showed our interest & made it known.

So I'm taking that particular piece of info with a reasonably large dose of salt, personally..

Coopsie I also find it quite daft that agents / players enter into negotiations with clubs who aren't in the champions league then express doubt about a deal because the club aren't in the champions league. I would take a different view of it - we haven't met Villa or his agents personal terms and they are looking for a way out with out appearing like like very expensive money grabbers. Not looking good IMO.

ledge - ITK's have confirmed there IS interest in Benteke, but his price will be an issue. Apparently he IS being monitored, though..

spurs2468, apparently, according to a few THFC supporters from Spain, this Higuain/Arseanal talk is nowhere near as close to happening as our press are making out..
"This is not true. If you understand spanish I'd link a vid of Floren commenting on Higuaín right after seeing Higuaín's interview where he stated he want to leave. In 2010 Floren tripled Higuaín's wage when whole Europe was after him.

Floren hasn't signed a player since Robinho. Kaká and Ronaldo were necessary because Audi, Coca Cola and 12 other companies threatened to either reduce the amount of money they invest in the club or pull out completely.

Anyway Higuaín right now is closer to stay than to leave, but the relationship between the board and his family is quite bad so a move will always be likely if the right offer come in.

We won't sign another forward even if Higuaín leave which makes it even harder for potential buyers because he's still considered part of the 1st team.

Arsenal don't have money, they won't sign him anytime soon unless they are prepared to spend big money. Media is just making things up"...............

Back to the supposed Jese Rodriguez story, though. This is a story that has come from Marca, which is basically a paper that sucks Real Madrid's dangly bits on a daily basis. So, if Marca say we are "one of the teams best placed to land him", maybe there's actually something in it?

Slurms, on another site, somebody said exactly the same thing as you, ie "the Pjanic rumour makes no sense because our midfield is stacked".. Then somebody responded by saying, "Maybe we plan to play him on left wing, as inside forward as he is right footed. Kind of like Iniesta."..... To which somebody else said, "He played there a few times for Lyon. Not a bad idea, to be honest. He could function as our playmaker in the front 3. He'd also give us the ability to put him in a midfield 3 against squads like Stoke who throw 10 men behind the ball and bring in another guy into the front 3 at the expense of maybe dropping Sandro in midfield.".....

So maybe that's the thinking IF there is any interest?

OK, going way off topic here, this is NOT Nonsense, what this is is an ABSOLUTE PHUCKING PI$$-TAKE!!!!!!! It's going to take up a bit of posting space BUT bloody hell it's made me VERY angry!!

Community campaigners have demanded that Tottenham Hotspur FC sinks £100million into improving the local area in the first summit with the club’s director and senior management yesterday.

The recently-formed Our Tottenham group, which draws support and members from community and residents’ groups and businesses in the area, said the contribution would equal that of Arsenal FC’s payments for improvements to the area in Highbury, made after intense wrangling with Islington Council.

The amount is more than 200 times the £477,000 Spurs is legally required to contribute under the current legally-binding arrangment.

At the club’s request, Spurs’ executive director Donna-Maria Cullen and its head of community relations Adam Davison met with a five-strong delegation from the Our Tottenham network on Thursday.

The group condemned the “negative” effect the current Northumberland Development Project regeneration is having on the community, and handed them seven written demands, including that for a £100million commitment.

Our Tottenham also demanded that no homes or businesses be demolished for the club’s planned ‘Wembley Way’-style approach from White Hart Lane station, that no public money is used for developments related to the stadium, that at least half of the new homes Spurs builds are for social housing, and that it sign up to the group’s community charter.

Ms Cullen said the club would respond in writing and the group claims there was intense discussion about the extent of Spurs’ responsibility for revitalising the local area. Frank Murray, one of the Our Tottenham delegates at the meeting, said: “We are calling on the club to speak out against the threat of demolitions of nearby homes and shops, and to promise to fund the improvements people actually need.

“Spurs always say they want to go one better than Arsenal, so we expect them to put more money into the area than Arsenal did since they built their new stadium.”

Spurs is currently required to pay £477,000 towards community and infrastructure improvements, a deal agreed in February 2012 after Haringey Council let it wriggle out of £15.96million of further payments, a £1.2million contribution towards education improvements and a requirement to build at least 100 “affordable” homes as part of the stadium development.

Some of those costs were passed on to the council and left to be absorbed by Transport for London and the Mayor of London’s £27million Tottenham Regeneration Fund.

The council also gave Spurs permission to increase the number of flats from 200 to 285, in order to help make the entire project “viable” and thereby keep the wider regeneration of Tottenham on course.

+ Our Tottenham will update the community on its campaign at a “street assembly” public meeting at noon on Saturday, July 6, outside Wards Corner above Seven Sisters Tube station, High Road, Tottenham.

You're nt going to parade guys out in old kits, especially for deals that have been done for some time. Until all the paperwork goes through and the respective organizations approve the deals, they are not done. The Paulinho deal has been mentioned by enough people directly involved to suggest it is done (but for any technicalities - ie medical issues etc). I'm not sweating Paulinho and believe Villa is also done. You don't show up and check out a training facility for giggles. Barcelona's development program is not exactly crap. If Villa has been around as has been reported, it's all agreed, but for the necessary ok's and the announcement, which was always going to coincide with the kit launch. I also think that the bactracking by the Gm as regards Jedvaj and Halilovic was more about propriety, than anything else. The first signings by Baldini have to be Paulinho and Villa with DL announcing the new contract for Bale and the new kits. Perfect Storm - NO??????? COYS

thfan - THFC has certainly NOT agreed to put £100m into improving the community, it's NOT their responsibilty. We all saw the plans for the NDP, they're amazing & improve the community no end. These people are 'demanding' that THFC pump £100m into improving the community, as well as doing the NDP. This 'Our Tottenham Group' has only been around since May, so where have they been for the years since the plans were first made public? Bournemouth are looking for a striker, nobody knows whether it's due to looking for a season long loan or a permanent move.

Does anyone really believe that David Villa did not know that we had not qualified for CL? Come on folks. Absurd. There are no guarantees until it's announced on the broken site, but still, all of these recent comments are made up of nothing. People complain how we chased Leandro window after window. True, but not really. Inquiries were no doubt made but the only window where offers were actually submitted, accepted and where the player and his agent were allowed to be talked to was the January window. It's like all the Bale crap. Where has he said anything beyond, he is happy at Spurs and one day, would like to play abroad. I'm not going to guarantee that Villa is done (I don't know). Harry seems to think so. It seems he was at the training facility (odd summer destination for a family holiday) and AVB has reportedly spoken with him. Seems a lot of odd coinkidinks all at the same time. There is smoke. COYS

ONLY THFC supporters are able to laugh at their club in such style. This is brilliant lol.......

"Professional footballer Paulinho has today revealed that he will be hanging up his boots for good after a long career in the game. The Brazilian midfielder's rise to fame really took off in the summer of 2013 when after winning the Confederations Cup with his national team, he nearly completed his proposed move to English side Tottenham Hotspur. Now after many years of silence and 'medical testing' in North London, we finally hear from the Seleção superstar.

"Everything went so well at the beginning of that summer, it seems like another lifetime ago. I had announced my intention to sign for Tottenham and was looking forward to meeting my new team mates and earning my place at Brazil 2014. Days passed and the chairman Daniel Levy kept telling me that my medical would take place 'soon'. After a while though, those days turned into weeks, the weeks into months, the months into years. Now I find myself sleeping at a place called Holly House, nobody is even sure that this is still where the medicals take place."

Look out for more from this exclusive interview tomorrow.".......

Much like Paulinho. If people had bothered to read, (Monday or Tuesday) there were reports that the medical would be taking place at the end of the week. Yet people are still looking to see what could possibly go wrong. He is reportedly in town for the medical. Kit launch is Monday. Why are they being silent? You don't stick mugs in front of the camera in old kits when the signings are of this proportion. Paulinho is one of the top young MF'ers in the world. David Villa (the Count as I call him) is one of the most recognized football faces out there. You don't do these sorts of deals without the appropriate fanfare. DN, ENIC, Bale, UA and HP will all want the Spus frenzy to build consistently until we are in Asia and then hope to sprinboard off of that. I can't speak for UA's Spurs numbers, but I do know that Spurs merchandise was available in NA markets where I have not seen anything since the 70's. I can go to Sportchek right now and buy last year's away kit (home has been sold out for some time). Until this past season, my choice was, website or pay double for a sports store to buy it online and then sell it to me. Levy has done very well with UA and both UA and Bale will be making a lot of money because of each other this year. The launch is a big deal and it will come with a fair share of fanfare. COYS

Oh yeah, and Bale is just back from his holiday in Spain this weekend. So many coinkidinks. Can't have a launch without the face of the franchise. COYS

Probably tour of London for Paulinho and Villa tomorrow and then a trip to Wimbledon to watch Murray in the final on Sunday with photo shots in between in the new kit and a good old get together with the new lads as well ready for the launch and announcements Monday then :-)
