Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

One significant fact about the Manure result was that it was the first team that was above us in the Premiership that we have beaten this season. Scum, Citeh, Toons, Bin Dippers have all had their 3 points whilst Chavski, Toffees and Manure have had their point.

What was even more significant was that Sherwood buried the criticism that he does not have enough experience to outwit a more experienced Premier Club Manager.

In truth this FA Cup game has probably come around too fast for both teams who both have some injuries in key areas.

Olivier Giroud is a doubt after suffering from illness and an ankle injury. Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) is injured along with Kieran Gibbs (calf) and Aaron Ramsey (thigh) while playmaker Mesut Ozil must pass a late fitness test.

Meanwhile Andros Townsend, Lewis Holtby and Jermain Defoe could return from injury for Tottenham. But we still are without Verts, Paulinho, Sandro, Kaboul, Siggurdson and Lamela.

Adebayor is fit again after being taken off on a stretcher!!! It was a shame he went off for what looked like a rest as he would have been my man of the match but he was sat in a bath of ice and is now apparently good to go. Tim Sherwood is quoted as saying 'How important will Adebayor be tomorrow [Saturday]? It's huge. 'I think if Arsene Wenger saw him limping off at Old Trafford, I'm sure there were a lot of pleased Arsenal fans and management and players. 'But, unfortunately, he's going to be walking out against them on Saturday. 'It didn't look great did it when he came off on that stretcher but he is a warrior. There is no holding him back at the moment.'

The question is going to be how badly do both teams want this result? We played a great system on New Years` Day and each Player did his bit albeit Rose looked a yard off the pace. But the character we showed at Manure has to be what carries us into this Cup Tie. We have a full week break after this match when we take on Palace at the Lane so it maybe that Sherwood will go for the same team selection that he used for Manure but Sherwood has a habit of using a team that fits the challenge.

Eriksen seems to be playing well on the left much better than Siggs, the Soldado/Adebayor double act looks like it is now bedding in and although Soldado is still not finishing some pure gold chances as long as they are coming in and he is there to take them then he must be on the score sheet from open play soon.

Lennon is actually starting to show some belief that he can score goals and that means we have in reality 4 players looking to score goals. Eriksen showed some bravery with his headed goal at Manure and it`s that kind of commitment that won us that match. When we lost to the Scum at the beginning of the season they hunted us down in packs and they gave us no time on the ball this time they will have to take the game to us. Scum could have a striker problem if Ozil is passed unfit. They have only scored 16 Goals in 9 home games despite being top of the League.

In their last game against Cardiff Scum struggled to break down an organised Cardiff, they defended deep and broke out when they had the chance.

We know that Wilshire will be his normal dynamo so we need to make sure that we don`t give any of their midfield any time on the ball and we need to make sure that Walcott does not get any space which means doubling up on him. Szczesny is always an accident waiting to happen and Sagna is probably their weakest defender but there is no doubt that if we give Scum time on the ball they will move us around the pitch so we need to keep our shape and make them play through two banks of four to push them out wide and stop them playing through the middle.

This will be the biggest test for Sherwood to date and given the man`s attitude he will not want Spurs out of another cup competition so soon after the defeat at the hands of the spammers.

It feels like it`s going to be a great game and I only hope Adbayor is fit enough to go the distance. He is one of our form players but who Sherwood plays depends on who is fit and how he reads this game is anyone`s guess.

I think the pressure is on Scum which is probably why they have restricted our away ticket allocation. Scum are refusing to give the 15 per cent allocation normally entitled to us under FA Cup ticketing policy. Spurs hierarchy are livid with the Scum`s decision to grant us just 5,186 tickets - which equates to just 8.64 per cent of the stadium capacity at the Emirates.

Doesn`t matter we`ll still make more noise than their pathetic supporters even if they do turn on their PA system to play their crowd noise backing track!

Critical, Hopefully it is a penalty shoot out just for the fact that we can feck them over like they did to us with the ticket allocation when we take them back at the lane. I expect Arsenal to start the stronger and whether we can ride the early storm will be key. The one thing that scares me is Dawson and his lack of pace against the likes of Walcott and Podolski.

It's unfortunate that we were drawn against Arsenal in this round. Had it been any other team, I'd have settled for using this cup as a gelling/training exercise. However, the rivalry has made it in to a potentially 'high octane' affair. I am sure Arsenal would've seen this comp as secondary, while they focus on PL and CL. Equally Spurs, with the season long issues, would prefer to focus on top-4 and EL. Had we a tiny injury list, I would've loved us to try and win this comp. However, in our current state, I'd rather give it a miss. Still be wanting a win, but NOT at the expense of more injuries. COYS!

Maybe if we can take clattenburg out early on we can get a sub ref in and win without them having to resort to cheating. Daws could just smash a ball into his face as hard as he can and make it look accidental. LOL I also hope Southampton get their just reward in their perusal of him as regards his remark to Lallana. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/03/southampton-mark-clattenburg-referee-adam-lallana-complaint-thrown-out

Can i go off topic please, its something thats been troubling me since Tim took over and played the 442 system, and dont get me wrong im enjoying the ride so far but, if we stick with the system and Tim stays for next year wont we have to get rid of alot of midfield players, i count at least 9 and plus 2 to come back from loan not counting wingers who are all fighting for 2 places, you can start now to shout me down, cheers

Topho, with an already depleted defence, would you risk the same back 4? Personally, despite the pride involved, I'd give Fredricks and Fryers a go. I am sure there is no way Wenger will play a full strength side......being top of the league, he'd be taking even a bigger gamble IMO.

I don't care If Arsenal fans 'fancy a win' they've been playing well, even over performing this season. I like the cut of Sherwood's jib. He will go there and throw everything at Arsenal, he has the balls to do that. Yes some people will say we should respect them, FairPlay. But that will not win you games. Goals will.... Get them on the back foot from the off and keep the emirates quiet.... Oh, wait.... It always is anyway. Coys

I've gotta call BS on the Szczesny comment. We have only conceded 18 goals, 6 of those were in the one off against City. Also, Arsenal have NEVER lost a game in 2 YEARS where Per+Kosc have played the full 90 minutes. On goals, Theo already has 5 in 5. Frankly it shows how pathetic Spurs are that you think Ozil's absence will be a factor. So we scored our goals super-late last game? Didn't we play without Mesut? Who cares! What matters is the RESULT. This Arsenal team plays till the last second of any match. In seasons gone-by we would have drawn those games or maybe even lost. Also, before you celebrate a fresh start, let me remind you that 4 games do not constitute a large enough data pool to allow accurate extrapolation.

Thing is you can't play on fear. Can't run a football team on it. Can't dictate injuries or form. I know I've mentioned the 'buzz' a few times, but footballs' based around momentum. You can 'hold' the buzz then draft it back in. It's Ars. I'm no lover of prioritizing as a rule. You play to win your games. True if you've had good cup runs and are competing in the league and it starts building up, prioritize if you need. But a week to rest? Players on a buzz? We've got Verts and hopefully Kaboul on way back. The squad is there to use. I would be going there to win this game. We'll need the best 11 available. Momentum. We knock 'em off their stride and hopefully we'll start some, lol. Week to recover then who is it, Palace?? Don't stress. Dare.

NO, I'm not contradiction myself. Let me draw an analogy. Without a doubt ManCity have got the best attack force in the league. Any team would love Aguero in their team, but his absence hasn't hurt them in destroying teams at home. Same with us, but in midfield. We've got the best midfield, and as you saw last game, Ozil's absence doesn't undermine our game.

5,186 reasons why we have to play a full strength team, would have been more but someone bottled on the allocation amount fearing it might get too noisy for the locals. Also it's our closest Derby and I have to go back to work Monday so no time for giving kids a go.

I'm not too concerned with arseinholes midfield. Somehow, adebayor's re-surgence has made our midfield come alive, even though sandro and paulinho are injured. Capoue, dembele, lennon and ericksen will be formidable if they are the starting 4. And we have a very impressive bentalib to come in if needed. Also chadlinho has some form. As already mentioned our front two are really flying and I think kane will see some game time also and he has been doing well when called on. Is lamela injured? If not then surely he should see some game time here? My problem is with our defence where we are paper thin at CB, maybe veljkovic will see some game time if it goes to extra time and we have some cover at fullback where naughton, fredericks and fryers are options. Feeling more confident about this tie now than maybe when the draw was made and think we will be in the mix and up for this one. Absolutely certain that Adeboyor will be fired up and will be the motivator-in-chief in the dressing room. 1-3 to spurs (ade, sol and eriksen to score).

Difficult team selection choices for this one. Heavy wet / windy conditions. The one player I wouldn't want missing from the next 2 prem' games is Dawson. I'd be playing Capoue alongside Chiriches for this one. With Bentaleb, Dembele, Eriksen and Lennon in midfield. Subs bench to include, Fryers, Dawson, Townsend, Chadli, Defoe, Kane.

Gunnerfan1987. Very poor player position and team analogy. Man City have a team of players of Ozils quality. They are have strength in depth way superior to Arsenal. Given your history of losing your top players to the Manchester Clubs I wouldn't be getting too excited. It'll only be a matter of time before he's wearing the blue of Man C or Chelsea.

The only 2 things certain is that both clubs will be up for this game and both will field strongest side available. I'm predicting a score draw and a replay. Not what either of us need. A welcome distraction from the league. It will also give a few of our injured players an extra week to recover for the bread n butter game v CPalace.

Jack Wilshere running around arms flailing everywhere, can't stick the moody little beggar. Always b/oody moaning, and the faces he pulls when doing it. Potential to become a Gurning World Champion. Impressive for one so young. Do us a favour Capoue if you play.....Go and introduce yourself to slapped arse face. Fairly of course, we are Spurs, we do not cheat. Bribe anyone?, lovely that's the Champ's league qualification sorted. Right, what's the weather forecast for Woolwich this afternoon?.

Better midfield, my arse. Arsenal have had the luxury of fielding their preferred Midfield numerous times this season. That is the difference. Highly unlikely Arsenal fans can fathom this however, they're too busy celebrating the lack of tickets allocated to Spurs. How embarrassing, but not suprising. Spurs fans far too vocal for the poor little Woolwich lambs.Surrounding neighbours would not want their Saturday night showing of Prancing on Ice interuppted by the cheers of the 4th Spurs goal hitting "our Chesney's" net.

Ozil "best #10 in the World"... "we manage without him".."we've got too much in Midfield". Why the feck buy him then Rodney Plonker. I thought the money would be more wisely spent paying the removal men to move you back to your spiritual home of Woolwich. Emirates stadium. Should be a good game despite both teams suffering injuries. Spurs will try to get the ball out wide and then feed Adebayor who will undoubtedly actually put effort into this game. Up front we'll see Podolski who I think can still cause problems even if he didn't prove that against Cardiff. Theo will be the one to watch, letting him run at Dawson would be suicidal but can Spurs afford men to double mark him. I think Pail will be fit to start. Can wait for the game going to be in attendence and you lot seem to be getting very vexed about the allocation demonstration. The fact is that 9000 of your gimps walking home with faces like slap arses that late at night is asking for trouble, there was recent trouble when Cheslea brought some Asbo window lickers to the ground recently but Tottenham have spun it as 'they dont want us to be noisy!'. MANON!...I can take losses along with the wins. Arsenal are just so smug. Chesney is always spouting something Spurs related. honestly the bloke should get himself one of them call centre jobs, he can't shut up. Verbal diarrhea. I have no problem with local rivalry, but there IMO is a correct and professional manner to adhere too. Alot of Arsenal's traits do not paint them in a good light. Wenger never sees anything, always someone else's fault, never his team. Walcott plays well, but continually gives it "Large", feck off and tidy your bedroom youth. Wilshere as already stated, alright you can play a little, but what's with the tantrums. Mummy stopped your pocket money?, are you grounded?, get a glass of milk and a cookie and shut the feck up. Gooners have nothing to lose in this game, but if we win then Tim Sherwood's position gets even stronger and I can imagine him walking into Levy on Monday and demanding his choosen transfer targets! It'll be close for sixty to seventy minutes but I am worried about a late arsenal onslaught. We better have the game put away by then! 2-0 the most dangerous lead in football!

Yet another post with racial overtones & connotations? It'll never stop, will it!!

VERY excited about tonight's game, yet VERY apprehensive, too. Mr Sherwood's last cup match didn't go too well for us, but that was against the Mighty Irons, so maybe this evening's opponents will be a bit easier? After-all, they're hardly flying in the league, unlike those Mighty Irons.

If Townsend is indeed ready for a return, i'd like to see him Left with Lennon Right. Thing is Eriksen has been great drifting in from the Left and popping up everywhere. Hard call to consider dropping Dembele to squeeze him into CM. Think we'll need a tackler type more than a creative considering Arsenals attacking threat. Dembele just shades it, but Townsend has to produce the goods from the Left.

Cider - Just look out for Wilshere, there's bound to be at least 1 moment where he trips over that fecking tongue of his!!

It was Training Day

Little Jack was running around the gaff like an excited puppy chasing a ball with his tail wagging.

Jack: Woof woof grrrr woof woof!

Tongue: Jack, listen to me I need a favour.

Jack: Woof grrr bark woof!

Tongue: No I am your tongue not your 'arris

Jack: Woof!

Tongue: Never mind that! Look just open your mouth and run around with me hanging out so you look like you are catching flies or something

Jack: Woof woof!

Meanwhile in an epic battle with Sauron the Zip Arsene had missed most of the training and finally gave up on his beloved sleeping bag. He checked the time and realised Training was over and everyone had left apart from poor old little Jack.

Little Jack was running around with his mouth open and his tongue out as usual pouncing on the ball still as excited as ever. Arsene checked his watch....

Arsene: Here Jack! Here boy! grrr stupid mutt.

Arsene placed Little Jacks special water bowl on the ground as he would be thirsty after a busy days training.......

The End

Seriously, why does he do it? Here's some examples of what I'm on about..
