Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Fulham.

Its official! we have the worst defensive record in the Premiership. We have now conceded 18 GOALS this season through defensive errors, the only teams that come close to our total is Southampton at 11 and Norwich at 10. Even the Gooners have 10 errors that led to a goal against them.

We started the season with conceding just 2 goals in 10 matches then Newcastle won at WHL and we arrived at Citeh and the wheels fell off our wagon and we have been bumping along the ground ever since.

There is an old joke; the Inflatable Chairman talking to the Inflatable Manager in front of the Inflatable Football club who says; "you have let me down and you have let yourself down, but, most of all, you have let your club down"! Well the excuses may come but the credibility of Mr Daniel Levy with the locals here in North 17 is lower than the credibility of our defence.

We are once again going into a new season with limited resources because the £108m that we spent last summer has not produced the goods and we dont have the money now to buy anyone of any note to fill the skill gaps that we have in the squad. The cost of the Northumberland is going to limit our spending power, unless we have a mass exodus of players, in which case Levy will make replacements but he probably wont be prepared to exceed the balance sheet.

If the Gooners finish 5th and win the FA Cup we could still end up in the Europa even if we do come 6th and that will be an added strain on players. Given the injuries we have had since September last year its difficult to know if we have the strength in depth to hold down a credible European challenge.

On balance you have to look at Liverpool and think that, without European committments, they were able to mount a challenge for the Premiership and maybe a season without Europa would give Spurs the chance to re-group. Unfortunatley, we will also have 3 season`s of being nomads with Wembley, Upton Park and maybe even Milton Keynes as home venues whilst the Northumberland Park Stadium is built.

Fulham could not win a raffle let alone a match until Magath took over two months ago and he is getting the results he needs to get them out of jail. Given that the God of Freak results is now making an appearance; Palace have beaten Everton at Goodison and Sunderland draw with Citeh, go figure? So brace yourselves for what may come at WHL.

Apparently, Magath has always been a bit of a disciplinarian and he orders his players to report in at the club`s training ground in time for breakfast. They all eat together at lunch time as well. Not bad for a club who have used 41 different players in the first team this season! No bacon butties anymore, muesli and prune juice by the sounds of things, must make the pre match huddle interesting!
Rodallega is their new Messiah having spread himself out on the pitch after scoring two goals in two matches! Fulham need 7 more points to stay up and you can bet that Spurs will be on their hit list after the Sunderland/Crystal Palace result mid-week.

Our dwindling Tim confirmed that Spurs are without Erik Lamela who will miss the rest of the season. Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, and Etienne Capoue are all long-term injury concerns. Roberto Soldado and Jan Vertonghen also look set to miss out but Dembele may be in with a shout. For Fulham Lewis Holtby is ineligible for the game, while Cauley Woodrow faces a fitness test. Damien Duff and Kostas Mitroglou are also out for the Cottagers.

Rodeallega will miss Holtby who has been a good engine for Fulham and one player we could have done with in hind sight. However, Kaboul feels he is returning to his best, maybe not error free,  but at least fit and looking forward to next seasons campaign...at Arsenal apparently!.......aren`t we all Younes,  aren`t we all mate! Touch of the Sol Campbell`s rather than the Ledley King`s for our Younes!

Spurs have lost just two Premier League games when Eriksen has started on the left or in central midfield and he is the one bright spots in what has been a really dull campaign.

It is down to who wants it most Fulham or Spurs. Everton have some tricky games coming up with Manure at Goodison on Sunday, Southampton away and Citeh at Goodison which is perhaps slightly tougher than the Gooners run in and we all know how a 6 point lead can soon evaporate, in fact Spurs are magic at making points disappear!

The Gooners have a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup this weekend with Hull and I would love to see Stevie B turn them over at the KC and at Wembley. The best we can now do is 72 points and that does not like enough now to get 5th so we might as well end the season as we started it and get some points and not let anymore in.

I think it will be a draw and it will show us once again how poor we are. The mentality at the club I think was we have a easy run in after the March fixtures and if we are in with a chance of top four after March we can do it with our run in, but once again last week showed us we are not even up to getting maximum points in our so called easy run it. As the saying goes, don't count your chickens before they are hatched. I do believe everyone thought our run in was going to bring maximum points, I thought myself we ought to be getting maximum points but this is Spurs with no direction, no plan and no one in charge who knows what they are doing. So draw and Arsenal to finish fourth and win the FA cup for them to be crowing again come end of season.

Interesting article Highgate. It amazes me that so many of us keep saying that Sherwood would be wise to say less and do more but he really just can't help himself. He is actually starting to make Redknapp look like a shrinking violet with the press by comparison. Sherwood really is addicted to the publicity, the sound of his own voice and lives creating a sound bite or two. It looks to me like he's auditioning for a Match Of The Day seat next season.

Check out this low angle video clip of Bales winner in the Spanish Cup final and his celebration with Modric! This is why all top Spurs players want out of LOSER Levy Fantasy Football Auction House Club. Check out the all white Real Madrid Adidas kit and how Tottenham Hotspur could look if we didn't have rag trade loser ruining THFC! Sure, we cant compete with the mighty Real Madrid, but the Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool level is very possible at a club with such a huge fan base as our, with the right owners! Just look at what Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Benfica are doing right now, pushing for major honors without the vast wealth of the likes of Man City, Madrid, PSG etc... Highgatespur-just read that article would love to hear the interview to see if the article is accurate. If it is then Tim is seriously playing a dangerous game. He wins to a certain extent because he will have a pay off a handsome sum of money and I guess a smaller club may give him a go, although I doubt he will do that well without international players.

The biggest problem Tim has is that he has done himself no favours. He hasn't been humble enough imo. To get this opportunity is a life time one and had he been more humble and left the out spoken attitude until after he had proved himself them things may have been different. You cannot say such things to international players in front of the media, or things about the board in public unless you have a CV to show you know what your talking about, to back up your comments, like Mourinho. Tim will dig himself into a grave and his time with us will come to an end if these comments are true. His media interviews have been that of a 'child' at times, unprofessional and nonsense and even the comments that may be true, there is a way to say them and a time and place.

Thanks for your usual, well written article Ovyeh. Now I look forward (not) to our usual rudderless performance against Fulham. For me, despite the March massacre, the season ended at WBA. What is there to look forward to? Flashes of brilliance to indifferent attitude of others whilst our manager laughs off his inadequacies on the touch line?

Highgate, Hope you have great day and see something worth crowing about. I expect Eriksen and Kane to be well up for it. Hope the team starts concentrating from the off. They need to cut out this huddle thing, as clearly the last few matches have shown, it is meaningless ritual, Perhaps they should utilise that time tightening their boot laces, saying their prayers and getting in to their positions!

Every new match day is a new one for me - till the 1st minute it seems these days.... I'm sure we'll win BIG whilst the goners and everloanians lose this weekend.... Ever the hopeful aye ?

Btw I do think the huddle is the ONLY time the team get to talk about tactics and where they are playing!!! LOL

Because we are Spurs, there is no such thing as a "predictable result", even against a team who are entrenched in the bottom 3 after 34 games, in any case predictability is boring. We could just as easily slip up and lose this, as turn it on and win it easily.

Highegatespur-thanks first link, well not as harsh as the article made out imo. He is just saying the jury is out on Lamela as to whether he will make it because he hasn't seen enough of him due to injury. He has assessed the others. I guess I would just question his choice of words, 'jury out' carry a negative connotation imo and I question whether it is wise to actually say such a thing when the lad has proved to have talent, but in fairness he is saying it in relation to the PL. I think with Tim he says it as it is. I am sure many fans and many other footballing people are thinking the same, will Lamela make it in the PL, the jury is out, but may be Tim needs to be a bit more conscious of the way he says things.

Second link re Bale again not as harsh as the article makes out. Again Tim is just saying as it is and again reiterating what many people think. I guess like the article says, non of it will go down well with Levy and the players, but I am not sure he was having a dig as the article suggests. Interesting though. What I find disconcerning is how he really believes he knows whether a player is good enough. He has assessed the players other than Lamela and he knows who is and who isn't. I just think there is a bit of arrogance there, like I said before, not very humble. I mean what has he done and achieved to think he has such insights. Wasn't Tim who stopped us signing saurez, I believe he was the scout that said he wasn't up to it. Hmm just wish he wouldn't be so full of himself, or is it just that he truly believes in himself and knows the job. This seasn he can say the players were not his signings, but I think he is out of his depth and hasn't much of a clue as to whether our players are good enough. Time will tell. If a new manager gets the best out of these players that will make Tim look silly, or if Tim managers another club with his own players then we will see how he fairs.

B2B - if a boss says he hasn't judged the player yet - is that true of all at the club - is he the only one ? There was hardly anything positive about Lamela's efforts, the recovery work he has doing , the conversations he has had with him, how he's looking forward to being fully fit and the mention of the price - whats that about ?
Why mention Luka ? If Modders and bale were at the club he wouldn't be anywhere near the position he's in!

Highgatespur-I don't think your wrong. I think Tims comments have become negative and arrogant. I think from when he was first appointed to now his language has changed. Like you say, no mention of anything positive. He could had said, he is doing well in his rehabilitation. He is coming along with his english. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do next season. He was negative and as I said his interviews are negative now days. Funny how he said in Jan that he was happy with the players he didn't want any signings now he is saying the opposite. He has dug his own grave imo anyway and I think it will be water of a ducks back to the players now. They will be waiting in anticipation as to who the new manager will be and imo I think Baldini will bring in someone who he thinks will be able to help Lamela, lets face it he has invested a lot in him. I think if Baldini selects the next manager it may well work as he will bring in someone who sings from the same sheet and who he thinks will get the best out of the players he helped sign. As for Lamela I do think he will be a success and I am hoping he isn't taking much notice of what Tim is saying. I would like to hear from him or someone else what is status is, whether he is training or still injured, I don't trust Tim either.

B2B That is one of the most positive posting on what has been IMO an unmitigated disaster of a season. I do feel apathy towards what the club has to say about anything these days but the team members to be treated like this and supposedly the players showing little interest is just beyond me. The sooner THAT announcement is made the better - in fact it can't come any quicker! But come 1245 tomorrow I'll be yelling "Come On You Spurs" in the hope of a great win... hopefully this lasts longer than 22 secs like it did last week. LOL, Once again great post!

TBH, don't see why Tim had to mention Bale and Modric anyway. He may have been asked a question about Bale's performance, but he didn't have to elaborate and suggest how we may have done with him in the team. If Bale was still here, AVB would still be the boss and we would not have splashed out in the transfer window. All conjecture after the ship has sailed. Then why refer to Modric in the same context, considering he left 2 seasons ago. Yes, may as well bring Berbatov and Carrick in to the fold!

Highgate, I wouldn't be surprised if you see fair few empty seats tomorrow. I bet stubhub are not even taking our match tickets on their books. Just look at this forum. The kick off is less than 15 hours away and just 70 posts?!! The interest has been knocked out of the fans. Like you said, the sooner we get the new man (needs to be before season tickets renewal) the better. Waiting to announce anything until the end of the world cup will spell disaster, squad and pre-season wise.

Whoever takes over as Spurs manager will inherit a fantastic squad. The £108 million spent has not been a waste..yet. Most of the players bought have experienced the PL which will help them next season. If the manager decides to move some of them on, we will lose out but there will be enough cash to help the problem areas with our squad like LB, RB, CB and another forward. Let's hope we play well today..the fans deserve some entertainment. COYS!
