Tottenham Hotspur vs. AEL Limassol
Following the glorious 4-0 thumping of QPR at the weekend, next on the list for Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino is negotiating what promises to be a tricky second leg against AEL Limassol, which would secure a place in the group stage of this year's Europa League.
Theatrically, the tie remains in the balance, however, having grabbed two away goals in Cyprus, you would think most of the job has been done and Thursday night is just a case of seeing out what remains of the tie, with another clean sheet on the agenda this time, something we couldn't do in the first leg.
As far as injuries are concerned, we don't look too bad, with the only long term absentee being Kyle Walker, yet Roberto Soldado has been ruled out of tomorrow night's match with back and neck injuries respectively. Good news however sees Vlad Chiriches being included in the squad after his return from a back injury that has kept him out since April, and the Romanian will be keen to make a good impression for the new man in charge after recent reports had been linking him to a move away from the club.
Sandro, Paulinho and Lewis Holtby will also look to prove they still have something to offer, with the two Brazilians looking surplus to requirements so far, whilst I would like to see maybe one or two of Mason and/or Ceballos given some game time to continue their good work in pre-season.
Line-up wise, like many other fans, I don't have a clear idea of who will get the nod, as Mauricio has used the large squad at his disposal quite wisely thus far and mixed it up frequently this season, but nevertheless I would guess he would go with something along these lines: Lloris, Naughton, Chiriches, Kaboul, Davies, Sandro, Paulinho, Mason, Holtby, Townsend, Kane.
