Vorm Or Lloris For The FA Cup?

Vorm Or Lloris For The FA Cup?

Guest writer and Vital Spurs member, ro6ertj sent us the following.

So, do we continue with Michel Vorm in between the sticks in the FA Cup, or perhaps swap to the team's regular Premier League shot-stopper, Hugo Lloris?

Personally I think there may be a conundrum for Poch - Vorm is our Cup goalkeeper but perhaps Lloris would be a better fit for the semi, and perhaps final?

On one side of the argument...keeping Vorm would only be fair but Lloris is our number one keeper and so would Poch, or even you trust Michel when the chips are down and we're on the verge of being eliminated? Is he good enough to make 'that' vital save?

On the flipside - Lloris has not won many honours and to give him a potential FA Cup final berth, or perhaps a winner's medal, then surely it's what he deserves. Surely?

We are coming to a decisive time in our season and as many have said, this team needs to win something to become great?

What do you think?

With the loss of Kane, we need loris. Kane causes panic amongst defenders and generally they fall deeper. Loris needs to be back along with walker, and dembele. It's going to be a tough ask. We need our best possible 11 on that pitch ... we have to win the semi and final we need silverware.

When you look at the fixtures, we have 4 fixtures in the first 15 days of April. We then have a clear week to the semi-final and another clear week to the NLD. That sort of implies that guys like Walker, Dembele etc can play the big games. If we are going to integrate some of the others like Winks, Trippier etc then it should be in the first 4 games. I'm not sure it looks good for Vorm though as Lloris could end up playing all 6 fixtures.

I agree with everything E17YID says. No matter how devalued anyone thinks the fa cup has become, at the end of the day it's still silverware and our trophy cabinet hasn't really been brimming with cups over the last few years. It's also a good way of holding onto players. They are paid so much these days that I don't think money is the overriding factor anymore (for players wanting to leave). Players want winners medals. Let's put our strongest team out there (and that doesn't include Vorm) and win something.

Yup, I feel we can afford to drop points in the PL and still finish 2nd. The feeling of beating Chelsea and then Arsenal in the final ... wow just wow.

Kane shud of been rested, we had enough to cope without him, let's see how we do now. And

Wow look at Leicester, u can't make it up, we wud never be able to do it

123Spurs - Leicester are doing what we did a few years ago... We reached CL quarters too...

I would play Vorm in the semis to reward him for the season. If we get to the final, you play your best team then.

I have complete faith in Vorm, if and when he is picked. As far as I have seen, he hasn't put a foot or hand wrong when called upon... It's Pochettino's call and I think he will probably use Hugo from now on.
