ITK: Spurs Make Mamadou Sakho Enquiry

Vital Spurs has today learned that Tottenham Hotspur has made a transfer enquiry into Liverpool defender, Mamadou Sakho.

We've been told that no offer has been made and that at this stage Spurs have made nothing more than a tentative enquiry.

Whether anything materialises remains to be seen.

Mamadou Sakho

Dual nationality - France and Senegal
Age - 27
Position - Defence - Centre-Back
Left footed
International apps - 28 France caps
Player's agent - Sport Avenir Management International
Liverpool contract expires - 30.06.2020
Market value - 10million Euros

Mamadou Sakho is currently on a safari holiday with his family in Tanzania.

I don't expect anything to develop, if at all until the transfer window opens. Nevertheless you have to say it's an interesting move by us.

Don't forget, you heard it here first folks!

10 million euros! You must be joking, try 30 million and you might be nearer the mark!

30 million - would Levy sanction that amount?
08/06/2017 16:03:00
That would be a good call, he would make a solid three at the back with Alderwiereld and Vertonghen.

As long as he's not replacing Toby.
08/06/2017 17:20:00
Knowing Levy, he'd get his 17 mill he wants for Wimmer and spend less on Sakho!...I also read that we're not prepared to pay 6 mill for Pau.
08/06/2017 17:44:00
Never mind Sakho, what Spurs should be doing is getting Toby Alderwiereld tied onto a long term deal, even if we have to pay him £100K/wk or whatever is parity with Harry Kane. The guy is the best CB in the PL by far and better than Sakho, Van Dyke, Stone etc etc, and any other CB who is, or maybe likely to become available. I can't understand why we are dragging our feet, but having said that we have got Daniel to contend with bless him, perhaps he has forgotten the combination on his wallet yet again.
08/06/2017 18:56:00
If Sakho is that good why did Liverpool send him out on loan and play all season in the Pl with Lovren and Co. not a half decent CB amongst them.
08/06/2017 19:06:00
Shame you put matup and not sakho in the picture. I'd take him as a swap for wimmer and future replacement for the belgians
09/06/2017 07:04:00
Wow didn't realise he was 27 already. Ok not future replacement but competition for the belgians
09/06/2017 07:05:00
Gotta say again, its really poor to mistake sakho for matip in the picture, especially given the crazy hair sakho sports hes kinda unmistakable
09/06/2017 07:06:00
So we haven't actually made a bid ? So what exactly are we talking about ?
09/06/2017 08:49:00
So, VS is now creating it's own ITK (nonsense) transfer rumours to spread. I see that certain newspapers are using this article as source material....... Proving more than ever just how some of these "journalists" can be so very lazy and parrot like in their behaviour. This I'm afraid is not what I ever came to VS for and most definitely why I never believe a word I read from the papers and suchlike. As well as this, VS is also increasingly becoming just another hitch-a-lift vehicle for links to other outlets, feeds, Twitter etc. A daily digest of begged, borrowed and stolen, second-hand content. Why? Geof, jod, anyone, time for a proper article please?
09/06/2017 09:32:00
That is definitely Sakho in the video by the way, thfc1989. :-)
09/06/2017 09:35:00
Frank, from what I hear Levy and Toby's agent are negotiating the release clause in the contract not wages. Presumably Levy would like not to have one and I am sure the player wants one just in case our team starts to fall apart. Then they will negotiate the size of the release clause as Levy will want one commensurate with Toby's hypothetical value in tomorrow's transfer market whilst the player probably wants it as low as possible. There is no delay. The contract is in negotiations stage.

Re Sakho, I watched him in quite a few CP games at the end of the season and he was the main stay of the CP defense. Many times single handedly saving them from embarrassment. He seems to be a very good CB and would make a great backup. However he does not fit our criteria for transfers. 1. His contract has too long to run so we have no leverage in negotiating a deal. 2. He is a bit old for changing his ways to buy into the Poch philosophy. We probably have made an inquiry to see what Liverpool's plans for him are hoping that they want to get rid of him (for reasons known only to them) so badly they are willing to strike a bargain. I highly doubt anything will materialize. But you can bet the media will run it for 2 weeks and then say we failed to get our man!
09/06/2017 11:42:00
yes dele in the vid but not article header, been changed now - all good. wouldnt wanna welcome him to spurs with an awkward moment!
09/06/2017 13:48:00
Ouch! I see that Hugo had one of his Gomes moments that cost France....think he needs a holiday.
09/06/2017 22:26:00
Yep that was all on Hugo! That is mor like a Robinson moment for England. I hope it doesn't cost him his place on French team as that could be disastrous for his confidence.
10/06/2017 02:06:00
Lloris will be fine, to be fair, the French defence has nothing on his club defence.
10/06/2017 07:28:00
Harry Kane is to Captain England today in the WCQ match v Scotland. Nice one Gareth .......... Tartan Terriers 1-4 Tottenham Hot-Lions. Dier, Dele, Harry and Kieran with the England goals. Walker own goal for the opposition.......
10/06/2017 11:36:00
Well done to Harry for saving the blushes. About the only service he had today. Not sure how Livermore made the squad. England do appear to lack creativity in midfield. It was a mixture of untried lineup that failed to perform as a team imo. Hopefully they will develop together. Not sure they needed 2 holding midfielders (Dier + Livermore) v Scotland. Nothing spectacular to write home about re our boys, but you can rely on Harry to produce the magic!

Onomah and KW Peters. England World Cup winners 2017. Well done lads.
