'Spurs Should Target Gareth Bale' - Wright

'Spurs Should Target Gareth Bale' - Wright

Tottenham should try to re-sign forward Gareth Bale, says former Arsenal striker and BBC pundit Ian Wright.

Wales international Bale left Spurs for Real Madrid for a then world record £85m in 2013.

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, Wright said...

'Could you see Neymar leaving Barcelona for PSG? Spurs could sell a return to Gareth Bale.'

This clip was first broadcast on 5 live Sport, Monday 7 August.

Today's papers are full of Bale transfer speculation including interest from Jose Mourinho and Manchester United. In addition, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is not exactly pouring cold water on these sort of stories by refusing to answer direct questions surrounding Gareth's future in Spain. Instead all he does is 'beat around the bush'.

Smoke without fire?

If, for whatever reason Gareth finds himself out of favour at Real should Tottenham be considering a bid?

Yes, we need him back, he is one of these quality players to take us forward. Sponsorship would help pay for him ... his commercial value would pay most of his wages.

Yes! He pays for himself and then some! We would win the league with Bale!

Be nice if Modric came with him. But, of the two. I'd prefer .... !

Haha Geof! He is undeniably good! Remember when Madrid went on their untouchable, free scoring run of victories and then struggled massively... Modric was injured in their last victory...

spurticus .... Yep. I still miss him. One of my all-time greats! He's the only reason I watch some Madrid games. It amazes me how he never gives the ball away.

Not for me. Injuries have impacted his game time. Enjoyed his breakout season though.

And while we're at it, if Messi really did say that he would like to play with Dele, then it's obvious what the man needs to do. Join Bale at THFC.
