Another 5th choice CB and maybe a crocked midfielder. Another joke of a window where we have probably weakened our team. How many bids have we turned down for sissoko now!! That alone shows we have nobody even close on signing. Just lost all faith tbh

Pathetic. We lack squad depth and look at the difference between ins and outs. Once again Levy has let the fans down. Happy to charge over the odds for tickets but not happy to invest in the team. Poch will leave next summer, that is a guarantee

No doubt we will, we sign more than one player each year and are still heading in the right direction. The team comes first as always, even more so with the big competitions we qualifying for more and more regularly. This year is no exception regardless of the move, and I think the club has been pretty transparent with the plans for the TW. We have already smashed our transfer record, and still have a few days to go to wrap up the deals that Pochettino and co need to push the team in the right places. One Negative – I prefer getting key players in early so they can spend more time with the team, I like the calm approach but bring a few faces in a little earlier… and we can still keep the eyes open up until 10.59 on Thursday night. A Positive - We kept the core of our players, the ones who matter and no one can get close. How refreshing, the gooners are having a mare this time around mainly due to the Wenger out party finding their swing. Exciting few days ahead, could be the last year we have signings being made after the season starts! Will we miss that, not sure COYS.

Waiting patiently for Aurier confirmation now, appaently several clubs wanted him but he chose us because of Poch and yes Levy.

Also apparently we have put a bid in for Gray from Leciester, that would be decent shot, although Marezh would have been better forimmediate impact Gray for me has great potential and good for future and likely to mould better than marezh

If we pull off Aurier and Foryth, along with Sanchez who us with us then that is pretty much impressive in terms of defensive players, because all three were wanted by other top clubs, and the money paid for Aurier is a bargain in this market if he behaves humself and adapts to the PL. No one can deny Levy hasn't pulled of potentially three decnt players, two for now and one for the future (Foryth). Foryth coming would also help Lamela who to me always seems he needs a friend, a country man to confide in, its so haard describing how you feel when your struggling to foreigners with language and cultural differences and players don't always want to confide in the manager, personal stuff and non players cannot always understand like family and non footballing friends, so Foryth may actually help lamela! I would also be happy with Gray, are we drooping our interest in Barkley and going for Gray instead?

What about Dembele of Celtic apparently they want 40m euros is that worth a shot, I mean 40m isn't huge in this inflated market for a long term striker who would probably do better than Janssen, and if we got him and sold Janssen for 20m we would be doing very well - not sure Celtic would sell though and whether he would come knowing its a struggle to play with kane being number 1

it'sME, I think even with those signings I'd be underwhelmed. Purely and simply we don't still have adequate cover/competition for Kane, Alli and Eriksen. Initially I was concerned about too many defenders being targeted, but now see that as a change of back line approach where the potential recruits could be more dynamic that may move us away from backwards/sideways possession. When watching the Burnley game at the stadium, I remember telling my partner, each time either Toby or Jan got the ball, I said watch it being passed back to the other and sure enough it happened repeatedly. I know sometime we need to switch attack from one side to the other, but it appeared to have been done for the sake of possession and no one finding an outlet to the midfield. Dier IMO was totally wasted as we didn't need a holding midfielder v an opp that came to defend and nick a point. I just want the team dynamics changed so the we can get out of our own half quicker.

I think we are going backwards. Aurier, Foyth and Sanchez potentially good signing and needed. But Levy is all about saving money and he is the best at it. We just have not achieved anything on the pitch and when we get close, Levy holds us back. Business wise our club are getting closer to Liverpool and Arsenal in terms of club growth. You can't knock him for that. But I think Levy could have really pushed the boat out this and last window, which in turn could have possibly seen us build a little dynasty. This in turn would have seen much faster growth as a club. We have really lacked options in attack despite the superior stats we have had of the rest of the league over the last two seasons. The rest are catching/caught up with us. What would we do without Ali Erikson or Kane? We have very little options other than Son. Who knows when/if Lamela will play next who was hit and miss when he played anyway. This a fecking joke!

I am amazed at some of the deals going on. 35m for Ox-Chamberlain? Am I the only person who thinks he is over rated? Renato Sanches to Swansea on a loan, we should have been in for him on a loan deal, no risk to Levy, how did he miss that one? Some of the rumours range from funny to ridiculous. You can't always get what you want. Sancho to Swansea is a plauer wanting to work under Swanseas manager as he has worked with him before. managers, coaches do attract [layers to clubs that seem unlikely to us fans.

I think if we get Aurier and he behaves then we have pretty much done alright in terms of defence, but still lack those backups in offensive play. We have uncertainty over Lamela and Sissoko is still too far behind and Son is playing catchup with fitness and confidencd issues after breaking his arm. GK injured and hasn't done much and Janssen imo looks shot, just like Soldado did. His comments of late are not encouraging and being overlooked against Burnley for last five minutes when we needed a goal says it all. So I really do think we need a striker and another offensive player.

Can we get a better striker willing to compete with Kane, not sure. Will Barkley come, not sure, but if Ox goes for 35-40m 11 months left on his contract you can bet Everton will be pushing for at least 30-35m for Barkley, that doesn't bode well unless Poch really believes he can get the best out of Barkley and he is likely to be with us for a few years, then in the current market, one year left or not, 30-35m will probably be worth a shot especially when you think we paid 30m for a older Sissoko, although I really do think the payment terms was the deciding factor on that one.

I believe we probably would have been interested in a deal for Barkley on the cheap (typical Levy deal), but Chelsea's 25 million bid + AOC's deal setting a market have probably killed any possibility now. Everton will hold out for at least 30, Chelsea will probably reluctantly agree to it and we'll have to beat that, which I can't see Levy doing.

Belgian, I think with Barkley injured, it seems a bit desperate for Chelsea to offer 25m for him when there is a real chance he might only play a few games before the January transfer window, when Everton would have to accept a lower price. Certainly, his injury plays into Levys hands perfectly for exactly that reason. Can Chelsea not buy a better player than Barkley for a bit more money? Personally, I can't see the point in spending 25m on him. I would rather Poch spend 30m on Draxler. Proven quality and not much age difference. Barkley has potential, but wouldn't get into my team ahead of Son right now.

Sky are reporting that Mahrez has been allowed to leave the Algerian camp to formalise a deal with a new club. I've been thinking that given the lateness in the window, and how we don't seem to be linked with any attacking players, he would be ideal for us. Although he hasn't got blistering pace, he is plenty fast enough and faster than anything we've got. He has great dribbling ability which is exactly what we need against packed defences. He has a winning pedigree with with his EPL winners medal. He's also a different type of player to anything else we've got. I think he would be competing for a first team place immediately. You would have to think Leicester would drop their £50 fee given they wouldn't want a player who clearly doesn't want to play for them any more. I think he's the best that's on offer today.

BelgianSpur - Not sure there's any reason Liverpool wouldn't sell to us. Their owners are businessmen, if the manager has decided Origi isn't wanted they will want to cash in and get him off the wage bill. Like you I think he ticks some boxes (although Martial would have been better) the question is whether Klopp has written him off or not.

Frank - Don't see how Lloriente would be "ideal cover". He's a centre forward who needs crosses to feed off and we play without wingers, its a mismatch. Origi would make much more sense. The whole thing may simply be us messing Chelsea around because of them trying to sign Barkley, although personally I think they would be doing us a favour if they did.

vicspur - except you're never going to get Draxler for 25 or even 30 million, he may or may not be interested in Spurs given the top clubs who would be in for him, and there's no way we could even match his PSG wages. Chelsea have very few homegrown players left and I can see them offering Barkley a high salary, and playing him very little (a bit like Delph at City), just to add an English player. Sad, but probably accurate. I also think that if Barkley is going to move, it'll be now, not January. If he stays, he may as well stay all season and leave on a free. It will give him more freedom and more leverage in any contract talks next year. Right now, the prospect of a full year on the bench doesn't sound great, but in January, he'll probably think he can bear an extra 4 months and be free to do what he likes. To be honest I'm surprised Everton turned down 25 million for him. Either they are sure that they can squeeze an extra 5 million out of Chelsea, or they are vastly overestimating the market for Barkley. I think that now that Chelsea are involved, that's it for us (but who knows, Levy may surprise us all). Their fans are crying for signings, and they can afford to buy players they don't really need. Time will tell whether we have other targets, but in any case, I think Draxler is a dream.

Interesting note from Sky:

It seems Daniel Levy has stepped up his game in the last few days of the transfer window.

Part of the deal that has been agreed between Spurs and Paris Saint-Germain for Serge Aurier includes an exclusivity clause, meaning the Parisians couldn't talk to Chelsea when the Blues made a move for the Ivorian right-back.

Aurie, Lloriente and maybe Barkley in. Jansen out. That will be all today and the conclusion of another pathetic transfer window where we have completely failed to address our weaknesses. E17, we desperately lack experience and whilst this may appear to be a Harry Redknapp type of signing, Llorente has done well at Swans and I am sure he'd be happy to contribute from the bench for us. I was getting a teeny bit miffed at continuing to sign potential and HOPE of making the 1st team. Sure there is younger and hungrier as well as proven players out there, but not in our budget. I'd have likes Origi, but I think Llorente is a Levy time compromise. Yes, it moves us away from the (young) philosophy but it would be good to have senior players at both end of the pitch for a change.

E17YID - Llorente may well be able to do more than score from crosses but in terms of goalscoring that's how he gets the bulk of his goals. If we can't provide that supply line then he will score a lot less. I'm going to be interested to see how Poch adapts his tactics to cater for a very different striker to Harry Kane, opening for N'koudou maybe ?

The BBC report that at this stage, the clubs have agreed a fee but nothing else. They say: "Chelsea are expected to make a counter offer and Llorente's destination is said to be too close to call." So there is still room for this to go down the drain, and I can't say that I would like our chances in a bidding war with Chelsea... As for the player himself, I think he's an upgrade on Janssen, but far from an ideal signing. He's still a decent striker, but past his prime. On one hand, if we get him (a big if still), the club deserves praise for finally addressing a pressing need, but on the other, there will still be questions about the quality of the signing, why we didn't go in for a younger striker, etc. Last season, MP ruled out signing Defoe because of his age. Wouldn't Llorente largely compare in that respect? In either case it would be a quick fix, and we'd be going down the same road in 12-18 months.

Signing a defender to fit a 3 at the back system, a direct replacement for the departed walker, cover for Kane and potentially an attacking midfielder means we have actually covered our weaker areas. Llorente ready in the middle coupled with the pace of Aurier & Rose flying down wings crossing could give really help rack up our goal tally. Age aside this is about strength in depth. COYS

Not sure about strength in depth, if we yet to add an attacking player, just one upgrade on a striker (real quick fix). I think we've done well with the defense. If Llorente comes he will be an excellent sub and rotation player for Kane. 15 PL goals last season. Major target on set pieces and corners. Dele-Arri - A disproportionate number of transfers will always be done late. Its partly about clubs haggling and seeing who blinks first. Its also about one deal being contingent on another, Swansea will sell Lloriente if they can buy Bony for instance. It can make it a bit like a housing chain where it only goes through when the last deal is in place. If you closed the window at the start of the season it would make it less messy, but a lot of the deals would still be done on the last day.

At the end of the day would we really want Barkley? He was out injured, came back then was out injured again very quickly, requires surgery, is he injury prone now, will he get worse trying to play catch up on his fitness after his lay off for surgery? He could well turn out to be another Anderton. Yet on the other hand this could cure his groin and he be virtually injury free for years. What I want to know is, is he worth the gamble at 25 million let alone anything over that?

DA - fair enough, but then I don't think that your statement of "yet every top club now seems to be struggling for last minute deals" is a valid one. When you have signed 3 very good players, 2 of which who automatically walk into your 1st team, in time for the 1st game, you are not struggling. You are merely putting the finishing touches on a successful window. I also don't see any panic going on at United, another club that got its business done early. Even City seem to be relaxed, Sanchez being the cherry on the cake, but they have got a new keeper, overhauled their back 4, and strengthened in midfield already, well in time. So really it's just us, Arsenal (depending on if they lose Sanchez), and Liverpool.

Tomorrow we can all start moaning about the rubbish players we bought. I'm sure many won't consider the cockerel on their shirt or give them time to prove themselves. Mexican wave, anyone?

SpursOne2 - and every year, we all agree before the TW that it'd be best to go for early deals. When that fails to materialise, we just hope for good players regardless of when they come in. And on deadline day, we end up trying to rationalise less-than-ideal purchases because we have failed to get out business done early and adequately. All the while having an inferior net spend than most PL clubs. Perspectives I suppose.
