I'm expecting County to make this as tough as they possibly can for us. But between Llorente and Sissoko I expect nothing but an emphatic win..... That's once they've make way for Harry and Christian!

Fully agree with you HT - Let's hope they can stay fit and add to the squad for the final 3rd of the season. Usual suspects for the starting XI, especially with the game on Saturday v them down the road. I just hope Poch has told them to move the ball quickly from the start. We usually cause our own problems if we play slowly and sloppy. COYS!

Lamela's back and scoring. And, between Llorente and Sissoko we got our first. Easy really... Hopefully we can get a couple more in the 2nd half.

Well played Newport... Simple for Spurs though, as expected. Good run out for our returnees. Lamela looking good and strong. Toby's back and..... bring on the nasty Wenger's! ... Up the Spurs!

E17 I agree with the Llorente comments he really hasn’t adapted to our style of play at all. Now he has absolutely no confidence after missing to simple chances and another a little more difficult. I again found Sissoko to have played a 6/10 game. He knows exactly what to do where to pass and yes, his brain works but somehow he can’t transfer the info to his feet consistently. But his assist on the og was what got us to settle down. I don’t think he will improve enough for us to keep him after this season and he will be used for as a sub for last ten minutes when he gets on the bench. With all our players back I doubt if he even sees the bench for a while.

We often moan about lack of cover for Eriksen but a fully fit firing Lamela like tonight would be a good option if Eriksen is rested or injured. Yes Newport are inferior to us, but they still packed the defense and i loved Lamela's close control and his flicks in tight spaces, hes the one player willing to try different things to open up a defence, a vital tool against bus parkers.

We should have had a cricket score but without a striker, we were handicapped. We've had some rubbish strikers in recent times ( Rasiak) but none as useless as Llorente. What a useless donkey! He makes Soldado and Janssen seem like world beaters. He can't pass, can't control, can't shoot, can't hit a barn door from a yard away, doesn't move, doesn't run. In fact he was the worst player on the pitch. Absolutely shocking and a total disgrace. We won but it was pretty pathetic except for the energetic Lamela. Very disappointed with our reserves. Could do better!

Swansea 8 Notts County 1, Spurs 2 Newport 0. Something wrong somewhere. And why is it our new signings never get an early chance to play. Hope we’re not into an N’ situation again.

Spurs put out 5 players who are 1st team quality but needed game time, so it was a good run out from that perspective. Credit to Newport coach he did his homework and once again exposed the flaw in playing out from the back rigidly, like the pool game Spurs gave away the ball in dangerous areas, however, like the pool game were not punished. Llorente is a stop gap and sisoko is a decent squad player. It will be hard for llorente to get up to speed as he is a big lad who will need a run of games to get up to speed which he is unlikely to get at spurs. The new spurs scapegoat Sisoko is the perfect squad player comes in does his best doesn't complain. Man.c have had to play delph at fb, like wise Man.u young at fb. Pool have played two youngsters at fb. What i am trying to say is that all teams have to use their squad as best they can. Spurs have a good enough squad to win the Fa cup and make T4 in my opinion, so it's up to mp to select the right players and tactics. Coys

Whats happened to the young players? No youths blooded this year, that said Foyth looks good on the ball, in fact he looks better on the ball than dier.

Given the level of pressure and possession, and chances created, this result is disappointing and enlightening. Without Kane our ability to score is limited, Lloriente allegedly our second striker supposed to back up, challenge or offer a selection alternative to Kane is hopeless, he should have had a comfy hatrick tonight but couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. Sissoko either gives it away or plays a hospital pass half of the time. Objective accomplished but a disappointing result in the circumstances. Finishing requires significant extra work, conversion stats unacceptable.

Was lucky enough to go to the game tonight. Clearly Llorente doesn't run around a lot and does nothing whilst Sissoko runs around a lot and does nothing. Both of them completely ruin Spurs style of play and have no future beyond this season at our club. What's worrying is that the home fans have no expectations on either of them and what probably used to be moans and groans has turned into sarcastic laughter in the stadium. That was quite worrying actually.

As for the game, I was chuffed to see Toby complete 90 mins and you could see glimpse of the old Rose as well. They will be important for the run-in but not sure we'll see them Saturday. Foyth had a shaky start but was fantastic after that and looks a great summer purchase. Winks was neat and tidy but didn't impose himself on the game whilst Wanyama was the more prominent of the 2 centre mids. Shame he took an early yellow. Lamela and Son looked a handful and good to have these options now along with Eriksen and Dele.

All in all, we managed to get through to the next round with no new injuries. That was priority 1. We also managed to let Lloris, Davies, Dier, Jan, Sanchez, Dier and Dembele have a complete rest whilst Kane and Trippier were unused subs. Just a shame that when you play 2 carthorses with 9 pedigrees that is enough for the team to constantly lose their rhythm and stop it from being an entertaining game of football.

I did get to meet Pat Jennings and Cliff Jones though. My highlight of the evening.

How come nobody has pointed out how good Son was (and is). Well, I will .... Son was the standout player, again! There were lots of changes on the team-sheet so we took 20 minutes or so to settle down. The own goal was bad luck to Newport but it was pretty much a training exercise after that. Good to see returning players get some time on the park. I'm impressed by Lamela since he came back, and he will only get better. I remember the time I would never have said that about him. I love it when our players turn things around. So now we continue our nightmare fixtures in the FA Cup with a trip to Rochdale. If we're lucky enough to scrape through that one I hope the football gods favour us with something easier in the following round .... like away to City!

Lamela played like a man that badly wants regular 1st team football. He played and pressed to impress. I liked that and I'm sure Poch and his team mates did as well. Likewise with Son. He worked hard, and he ran and ran. And Foyth is impressive for one so young. Toby looked in good nick and Rose and Winks as well. They took the knocks and survived. Aurier was strong and tidy. Vorm was as ever, reliable and Sissoko was Sissoko and Llorente wasn't really himself. Or should I say, his old self?

Llorente and sisoko were bought under MP's watch so MP should be the one getting insulted not the players. With 12 epl games left and still in two cups i don't see why squad players like llorente and sisoko are getting so much flak. Llorente will be moved on in the summer and i agree with that, i am not bothered if spurs sell or keep Sissoko as i think he is a decent Squad player. Have you seen rochdales pitch? i wouldn't want to risk any spurs player on that mess perfect for Sisoko. Coys

Llorente "his old self"? He was ghastly and is becoming the laughing stock with his lumbering around, poor control, constant misses. He is not a Spurs player and in fact ruins our play as he often gets in the way. At least Janssen ran around, held the ball up and could pass. Llorente has become another of Spurs striking failures and a joke. He should not be even on the bench.

wentworth. Yes, I meant his old self when he has been known for most of his career to be a very good and reliable striker. Unfortunately he hasn't been good enough for Spurs and after last nights poor finishing maybe he never will be. Even so he does do a some good stuff too. As a target man he holds the ball up well, is strong and supplies a lot of good lay offs and passes to his team mates. But, as a striker, in the shadow of Kane, he needs to be doing so much more. He needs to score!

Good news! Looks like Fenabache does not want to keep Janssen after this loan!! Surely must be an improvement on Llorente. No doubt we are set in the striker department for next season.
