Welcome the new addition!
yeah like this new feature, be nice if everyone put their toys back in their prams now and got on with the rest of the season
this is good
i like the fact that you havnt given marks out of 10 as they can be biased ox.
Every game is like a cup final at the minute, thought the final whistle was never gonna blow! COYS
Gareth Barry - Goal of the Season???
Big C, Well said!. I'd add to your "Really good to have a manager who has both the heart & the ability".....the term, Courage!. Bet many were puzzled by the team sheet this morning!. COYS!
The thing is i can't understand is why people were surprised by the Team Sheet. Verts and Benny both played midweek to my knowledge and full games (i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong) Naughton and Caulker didn't kick a ball so made sense to start them. People moan about harry not rotating and when AVB does they moan. Also for those who moaned about Holtby going off for Ade. It made sense as dempsey can drop on the left which is a familiar role for him and allowed Bale to go up top and straight away we looked more threatenhing also ade and dempsey have played together before. Let holtby play against Lyon behind Ade and they can work on an understanding in a game which is not as much of a must win as todays game was. Is the race on for 2nd ??? we can dream. If we did people would still moan. For all those who say everyone is playing poorly thats why we are where we are. Has anyone thought it could just be a harder league with no gimmes. Lets hope Wilshire is out for a few weeks ;) COYS
Big C, RVP and suarez are strikers cant say they are doing better than bale at all, if bale was a striker he would be doing just as good, well better put them 2 on wing like bale is doubt they would shine as much

Nice. Surprised our possession wasn't more esp second half but then again we seemed to be all about the counters today! Off topic but any chance anyone could inform me how our loanees got on today?? Notresults but performances. Thanks
What caught my eye was, again, the high rate of corners Spurs got and not a single goal as a result. This has been almost a habit for the last 5 matches as far as I can remember. Two digits corner figures and no goal. One issue for AVB to address quickly. We could have been scoring at least one goal more for match.
This is good, ox. Thanks. Great win . 3 points, very valuable. Hope Utd. do a job on Everton.
@EASY AS_AVB ... Definitely a contender for the goal of the season!
The best THFC video done in a long time - absolute goosebumps every time I watch it. Kudos to the fan who made this.
That was our biggest win of the season so far, on another day we might have been beaten or even just scraped a drawer!! Les Barcodes looked really menacing going forward and i thought we defended pretty well against their movement around the ball. Bale has seemed to break his hoodoo of the past 2 seasons of getting to about 10 league goals and fizzling out. Still think we might be a striker short in the run in as it does look goal difference might be the difference between 3rd and up-to 6th place at the final standings.
Just read all the moaning and stupid comments from so called spurs fans during yesterday's game ..if u actually went over there you would see the bigger picture,we totally outplayed Newcastle from start to finish, good rotation and we have a great manager..and the substitutions were perfect !!!!
Echo the sentiment about good subs. This is why AvB is the manager, and those criticising him on here are Internet warriors. Saying that, there were a few moans in the ground when holtby was replaced rather than Dempsey.
Great result ; solid performance. Heartened that we rested key players and still got the required result and performance. There will always be negatives in a game; should have scored more, shouldn't have conceded, should have converted from one of our numerous corners, Bale missed an open goal, Dembele took a knock. After the recent 2 draws, all that matters was 3 points. Our performances may not be as eye catching as under Harry, however I can't see us capitulating as we traditionally did under Harry in Feb/March. If we do, then it'll be more down to the mind set of the players this time around. Btw I absolutely love the way AvB and Freund celebrate each spurs goal as though they were spurs fans celebrating a spurs cup final win. Absolute magic. COYS, we are in safe hands!!!
Agreed, strawboy. I'd say that Freund's celebrations are a bigger plus than Bale's performances this season. I don't think we can moan about conceding. Newcastle looked good in the first half and it was an unlucky deflection. Great to get three points against Newcastle and not have used Benny, Vert and Siggy, and not given Holtby or Ade 90 mins. Excited about Kaboul's return!
Perfectly put > Great result, solid performance. Certainly a little hard to read AVB...but we cannot fault what he is achieving at the min'. Good luck to him. That said....Thankgod !! for you know who Naughton should not be playing left back, doesn't tackle enough with his left foot. E.g...two crosses could have possibly been cut' the newcastle goal, if left footed tackle occured. Dembele...keeps taking it for the team (fight). Fingers crossed he is ok. Still the worry that we are short if Bale or Lennon gets a knock. (was very worried when Bale twisted his ankle on landing, before his 2nd goal.....bit of luck turning our way). Dempsey....Fair dues that he put in a big shift....but lacks quality. Holtby...showed good glimpses of what we can expect for the future. There's only one God on this planet.....Gareth Bale, take a bow.
I concur with all the comments so far other than Dembele who for me is a big dissapointment at the moment. I'm begining to think he prefers to be a big fish in a little pond rather than prove his quality on the big stage. Hope i'm wrong but he hasn't impressed me the last three or four games.
pratts bottom
I think too much is expected of Dembele sometimes. He isnt the most creatives midfielder out there and playing alongside Parker and to a lesser extent Sandro, really highlights this. At times it's clear he could do with a Modric type player alongside him, especially against defensive teams. But I still think he's a great signing for us and of all the central midfielders at Spurs, he's the 1 we would really struggle without. The ultimate box to box midfielder, everything Jenas wishes he could be.
the other plus guys is le scum go to bar codes last game of the season. cant see the goons getting anything from there. also man city to play them
Agree on Dembele Guyver. Wonder if we've got the balls to play Holtby alongside him sometime, maybe at home against teams going defensive. Or wether it would be a little naive not to play a defensive centre mid (ie. Parker) next to him.
For any games where we could afford not to play Parker as defensive centre mid... Dembele and Holtby in the middle, Lennon, Bale and Dempsey attacking 3, Ade up front. Wonder if that could work?
Cheers for the video link sydqcb5, watched it 4 times already
Absolutely big cockeral, the guy's class... hope he's with us for a very long time.
Dembélé hasn't impressed me in recent games, just gives the ball away too much.
Tottenham Hotcore
Anyone know if he's still carrying a niggle? Having Sandro used to help Dembele and our defence NO END. He was the difference between us dominating other teams and now fighting toe to toe with them instead.
Re the stats, particularly the shots and shots on target. With the exception of the 3 goals and Krol's two great saves from Bale, I can't honestly recall either keeper making a save of note, so what happened to all the "shots on target"
I have to say I have not been overly impressed with Dembele, after scoring on his debut he seems to confine his most eye catching work to areas of the pitch where it doesn't add to us from an attacking sense. On what I have seen in his brief appearances Holtby looks as though he will be far more damaging from an attacking point of view. We are amply covered at DMer with Parker, Sandro, and Livermore as back up, we don't need Dembele to try and be the 4th one. He needs to get forward more often to be termed a "box to box" MFer, currently he spends most of his time nearer our box than the opposition's.
I agree Ledders77, ive said the same re Holtby possibly forming a good partnership with Dembele in CM, especially against defensive teams. Also it seems Holtby has excellent passing ability (like VDV), but his finishing was a bit off against Newcastle, often missing the target (unlike VDV) he might be better suited to a deeper role..
