Blimey what has happened to this site, years ago there would have been literally HUNDREDS of comments on here by now, instead I am the first on here, used to be ab bit of a badge of honour if you could get the first comment up, but now it's like shooting fish in a barrel cz there are so few comments nowadays.

It looks to me like a certain Dele Alli is starting to believe the hype surrounding him and is now playing like an idiot, he is throwing himself to the ground and falling over all the time to try and get a free kick rather than work for the ball now. He is actually starting to become a bit of a liability with his petulance because we all know teams will target him to make him lose his cool and it is working like a charm. He needs to grow up and learn to play like a man, not a little kid at the local park.

We NEVER turn up for the "small" games after we play in and win a so called "big" game.

chrishove, the point about the number of posts is valid and surprising that we often see a flood of posts follow a mediocre performance and yet it is pretty quiet here. I personally think the post count has gone down since the manager-merry-go-round stopped!!! We have stability and the year-on-year progress has quietened the forum somewhat! Levy must be quite happy with the lack of criticism too!

Quite a few posters have commented on Dele's performance of late and imo, we hit more dead ends with him IN than OUT 'cos he doesn't ALWAYS move the ball quick enough, often preferring to nutmeg or Dele-dally too long and the impetus is often lost. Funny how we appeared more fluid without him v Dortmund. We can't seem to move the ball quick enough in the final 3rd. Hopefully the lads and Poch will review the video and find a way to fix this, else I can see the Wembley attendances petering out, unless Levy opts for 2-for-1.

Nonetheless, can't deny his contribution to goals and assists....yes, seems a contradiction to my post above, but imo, he plays well against the teams that play an open game.

Not enough controversy to keep posters interested anymore.

Should be sitting 3 points off the top but here we are 5 points off the pace. Where was the aggression in our play yesterday ? Nobody dared to take on a player in their penalty box. It was all passes and misplaced crosses. Nobody took the responsibility and everyone played the safer option.
17/09/2017 18:05:00
We were too cool, too calm and too collected on the field of play. We need a passion merchant in the centre of the field, yelling and screaming at our players. Time for a captain in the middle of the park.

Lack of squad depth again. When you are chasing a game and you have to bring on a full back (Aurier) to replace an attacking midfield player (Sissoko) then you know you are in trouble. In a five week period between mid October and mid November we play Madrid twice, Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Dortmund. We simply do not have the squad to compete. Still no alternative or support for Eriksen, still no pace going forward and still no depth in the squad. In the transfer window we basically replaced players we sold - Aurier for Walker, Sanchez for Wimmer, Foyth for Carter Vickers and Lloriente for Janseen. For a wealthy team competing in the Champions League it is not good enough and we will pay for this short sighted planning. Healthy balance sheet though!

DoncasterHotspur - Love the way you don't even need to try Winks in a more forward position, you already know he'll be no good there. Must make it so much easier. We haven't sold Carter- Vickers, he's on loan. Which are the players with pace we should have bought ? Please don't start talking about wingers, there's nowhere in our set up for them to play. Finally just how rich do you imagine we are ?
18/09/2017 08:43:00
Jod - I would say we are wealthy enough not to have to make a profit in every transfer window and wealthy enough to address the glaring weaknesses in our squad. I didn't mention wingers, I just said we lack pace. And I would say there is always roon for wingers even if it just an option off the bench. In all honesty how can we afford to rotate when we are playing the big teams. We rotated against the might of Swansea and came up short.

Passion and aggression - Jan Vertonghen, he's been like a man possessed in the last couple of games, bombing up the left flank, at times our furthest man forward, he beat Davis up the pitch numerous times against Swansea. Dele is off the pace and with hindsight we could have benched or rested him o Saturday. We did everything but score on Sunday, hit the bar a few top saves usual story for us, opposing keepers seem to save their best form for playing Spurs! Two penalty shouts one nailed on one that would have been harsh but could have been given. Persistent fouling of Dele Ali not punished with a card till late in second half. Tough to watch when the away team camp all eleven players in their own box but there job is not to get beaten or job is to beat them so all's fair on the tactics front. But we have to be smarter and vary our attacking tempo from time to time, and with Dier, Erisken, Dembele and Kane all able to unleash thunder bolts from distance we need to hit and hope from time - especially if Ali and Son are hovering in the box for scrappy rebounds and deflections. Also - and I'm sure its been said before but - can we not beat the first man with a corner anymore? We have guile and quick feet but sometimes we need to be a bit agricultural too...

DoncasterHotspur - "I would say we are wealthy enough not to have to make a profit in every transfer window and wealthy enough to address the glaring weaknesses in our squad." What is that supposed to mean ? I was asking a question about how much money you thought we had. Either you have no idea or you don't want to answer.

The comments count went down drastically when 'High' disappeared.

Arky .... Watch the game again, mate. We didn’t do much wrong. We kept the ball so there was no chance of them scoring. We created so many opportunities, which is a good thing. We failed to score, which is a bad thing. Pool managed a draw against Burnley after having lots more goal attempts than we did. It’s the nature of the PL. The reality is that Swansea came for a draw and were very lucky to get it. That was frustrating for all of us. It’s so easy to know what we should have done in hindsight. I don’t see much wrong with the squad either. Maybe I’m just easier to please.

I thought we were pleased with the TW summer.....we didnt kick on and now its showed on Saturday, Lets just hope it was another one off due to the CL game on Tuesday. Alli never played well, but neither did we as a team.

Jod - I don't really need to say exactly how much money we have in order to make my point that we are consistently the only club to make a profit in the transfer window, although I could look up the latest accounts if you really want me to.
